What book are you reading now?

Funny you should say that Cee, only yesterday someone recommended Karin Slaughter to me, and I recommended Susie Steiner to her

Hi

A have read a few Karin Slaugther, I like them.

This is the first Karin Slaughter that I have read. I will definitely look for more of hers.

When my daughter came a couple of weeks ago she brought me four books, I tried two of them but gave up they really were “chick lit” and just not my cup of tea. I was surprised that she would read such rubbish. Mind you, they were obviously charity shop books as they were priced at 50p each.:surprised:

If you like Karin Slaughter you might like to try Alex Kava too.

I’m re-reading Terry Pratchett (on Small Gods now), Wilbur Smith and I’m just debating the latest Jeffrey Deaver.

For about a week now I’ve had a new Stephen Leather (from the library) ‘Light Touch’ on the arm of my chair, but haven’t got round to starting it. Tonight, may be!

I’ve just finished reading ‘While my eyes were closed’ by Linda Green.

It’s about a little girl who is abducted while playing on the park.

It follows the police hunt - her family’s distress and the little girls new life with her abductor.

It’s a compelling read.

For those who like Karin Slaughter, you may also like Karen Rose

I’ve got the Good Daughter by Karin Slaughter sat here waiting to be read

The Way of the Peaceful Warrior by Dan Millman.
A very thought-provoking book which offers a positive outlook on the more negative aspects of living a life. Very enjoyable.

I’m reading ‘Behind closed doors’ by B A Paris.

It’s one of the best books I’ve ever read - it makes my blood run cold but I can’t put it down.

Jack & Grace are young, successful and seem have the perfect marriage.
But OMG what goes on behind closed doors…

Second book in the Ukd series by Chris Harris. Fascinating seeing post apocalyptic books set in uk so many come from USA and don’t ring true here.

Yesterday in Costco I bought “Blood Sisters” by Jane Corry. The synopsis reads, “Three little girls set off to school, within an hour one of them is dead.”

No idea whether it is any good, but the choice was very limited.

I’m re-reading The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt - such a good book.

Yes I enjoyed it too, she’s a good author, but I felt it was a tad too long?

I picked up my old copy of Goodnight Mister Tom when I couldn’t sleep…what a cracking little book, can’t put it down, a real gem

I am reading a 4 book series by Holly Greene - love stories set in Greece, to get me in the mood for my holidays in just over a weeks time.

Lullabies for Little Criminals.

Read it last year and I loved it.

Reading the dogs of riga … A Wallander thriller… Not bad considering…

I love greece too shirley…my second home , must read this

I am reading the DCI Banks novels written by Peter Robinson, Just finished number 3 - they are very good, if you like detective fiction. There are currently 25 to go at - not sure I’ll make it through all of them !!

I’m reading one about the death of princess Di and if it was “murder”.
The book is quite thought provoking to say the least.
