Not a book as such, but a short story; The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty by James Thurber.
Inside Out - The Inside Story of Pink Floyd by Nick Mason.
What else?
I met a chap at my healing group last week and got talking to him. Nice chap.
It turns out he has just written his first book.
I asked him to bring me a copy to the next meeting, and he remembered.
So this is what I am going to read next.
It is called “From Builder to Healer.”
Hi
I am currently reading Understanding Women.
I have not got passed Volume Two.
Only another 137 Volumes to go.
You’re getting there, then !!! …
Almost finished reading “Robin the Hoodie” an ASBO history of Britain by Hans Christian Asbosen.
I don´t think I have ever read anything so funny. They are short stories related to historical figures, very much changed from the normal accounts.
First one is Queen Boadicea´s big night out.
Oliver Twist has become orphan Jamie Oliver Twist. Dick Turpin was a notorious charity mugger. etc etc.
It´s pure comedy. A good sense of humour is definitely needed.
Oi, what’s that got to do with the builder’s book?
Are you trying to tell me something?
Hi
I have given up on reading about Understanding Women, far too difficult for my tiny brain to comprehend.
I am now reading a series of papers about advanced Quantum Physics .
These are fascinating, they explain how a complete new Universe could pop up in your dog basket in your kitchen at any instant in time and result in a Bedlington several hundreds of millions of times larger than the known Universe.
Much easier to understand than women.
You are going quite bonkers.
We must find you something to do. . .

Twink, where are you, here’s another one we will need to take into care.
We are beginning to notice this after men retire.
I am reading the romantic love story of Catherine de Valois once Queen of England and France who married her squire Owen Tudor .
I am at present reading, ‘The rise and fall of the Walthamstow dog stadium’.
Easier that trying to understand woman.
I have just happened upon Mark Billingham and his Detective Thorne series, currently on book two “Scaredy Cat” and it is good - but seriously gruesome!
Ooh no Tabs, I don’t do gruesome.
Just finished Don’t Know Much About the Bible by Kenneth Davis and have now started The Beak of the Finch by Jonathan Weiner, a book about evolutionary biology that focuses on the Finches in the Galapagos Islands.

If you are interest in such subjects - and others - then this website might be of use to you …
Though I search for the titles using Google and track them down elsewhere such as the above title on Amazon.
I’m currently reading Elvis Costello’s autobiography, “Unfaithful Music and Disappearing Ink” - I’ve always liked his music and think he is ridiculously underrated as a singer, songwriter and producer. He was also a local lad and worked for a while at the Elizabeth Arden perfume factory at Park Royal. The factory still has a poster outside announcing that “Elvis has left the building!”
This is an example of his songwriting genius (as an extra bonus it features jazz great Chet Baker playing a beautiful trumpet solo).
