What are you having for lunch/dinner? (Part 2)

Thanks Eliza, I had overlooked that one, a poached egg on toast is a nice snack. I guess also scrambled egg would be possible? Sponge pudding I will have to give a miss as I haven’t ever made a cake in my life!

The first thing I learned to cook in a microwave … :slightly_smiling_face:

Thanks Omah, will have to check that out. The BBC Food website is one I often use, I’ve never been taught to cook and sometimes cooking times are required. Also I found another useful website giving information on cooking vegetables in the microwave:

I’ve never had to do this before, I might even dispense with hob and cooker and get a Ninja Air Fryer, I’ve heard they are good.

By the time I order a new hob and double oven I might find I do not even need one!
:grinning:

I’ve been cooking scrambled eggs in the microwave for years, and never realised I needed a recipe!
Well you learn something new every day… :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

I have also cooked scrambled eggs in a microwave for years …… cooked in a jiffy and no mess! :grinning:

Puddings and some Cakes are good in the Microwave
Heat up Soup…and eat with Crusty Bread
Anything with Pastry… just don’t
No travelling burner or camp stove? so handy… :innocent:

belgian buns

They are placed together in a baking tin after rolling up and cutting in segments of thin rolls, and then when they come out of the Oven best to let them cool before easing them apart.
If your like me, and have the need to Test One straight away, then they will break away from each other but some layers will still me stuck together so then you get various sizes of the Buns…just saying if you are wanting a better presentation wait 10 minutes…yum yum…
Lunch will be light…apple grapes and cheeses…
Tonight Roast Pork…

@DianneWoollie Those buns look absolutely yummy!

It’s a pity I’m on the other side of the world!

Thanks for this, I do use the microwave for soup and always have. The problem is that without hob and oven there’s only a slow-cooker and the microwave. I’ve had to learn about food and how to cook conventionally anyway so have no idea about microwave cooking, which is entirely different.

No camp stove either, one of those would have been very handy, as you comment. I did think family, who used to go camping and now have a caravan, might have had one but it’s all luxury in touring caravans nowadays, with a full-size cooker and a microwave too.

I will manage, I usually do, somehow or other. There’s always salads this time of year and of course the Fish & Chip shop and also plenty of takeaways!
:grinning:

Roast dinner today.

Chicken, R. Potatoes, Y. Puddings, Swede, Fine Beans, Gravy.

What time is dinner, I will be there?
:grinning:

I’m thinking about:

Spaghetti Stuffed Garlic Bread

Sorry Baz finished it, it was lovely.

That’s good, pleased you enjoyed it. I have just finished my cheese and tomato sandwich followed by a fresh pear and a glass of summer fruits cordial. Just thinking of my figure and two years of lockdown, the weight gained over that time and that I am losing some of that.
:grinning:

You know what Baz, I didn’t even realise until just now that you are Barry! :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

@susiejaeger Oh no he’s not… :rofl:

I am a Barry but not the one you are thinking of, my namesake picked up quicker than me on that one. I was busy getting my evening meal, without a hob and oven too – gammon steak, jacket potato and lots of vegetables – delicious! :grinning:

@Barry Is it pantomime season already?

@susiejaeger As my comments above!
:grinning:

@Baz46 it’s always pantomime season on here Baz… :grinning:

That’s true, I hadn’t thought of that! :grinning:

I cut out the garlic bread:
