Got 4 kippers from Tescos earlier, they weighed 1.3 lbs and cost £4 that’s not too bad.
My Mom used to do soussed herrings…I remember …onions…and a nice smell.
No-cook Monday here: shrimp salad on a hoagie roll, Kettle chips, cauliflower and two mini spring rolls with wasabi dipping sauce. Love that hot stuff!
OH cooked a casserole.
Just about to have another kipper for lunch, how’s this, it’s not cooked yet but it only takes 4 mins in the micro on medium heat.

Now that was really nice, Smeags goes crazy for the leftovers, skin etc, but the rest of them don’t like it.

Do you have a steamer for the microwave DM ?, it’s like a Tupperware container with a plastic tray in the bottom, you put a small amount of water in it then place the tray inside with the fish on the tray, it keeps all the flavours in the fish and cooks in half the time.
I don’t have a microwave, Nero. I like to cook, prefer traditional broiling. I do have a regular steamer, however.
An hour ago I put a big ham in the pressure cooker, it’s cooked now so I’m just waiting for it to cool, don’t know what to have with it, mashed or chipped potatoes, maybe peas (tinned of course) or carrots (fresh), what do you think ?
I’d give the tinned peas a miss but otherwise v nice
We’ve got smoked fillets of salmon with green lentils (tinned!) and spinach. Gourmet grub ready in about 10 minutes, nae bother
Definitely not tinned peas Nero, carrots and mash sound delicious. Pizza and salad here tonight as usual on Wednesday. DM, that sounds delicious!
Dinner tonight, Chicken Lasagne & fresh Veg
I settled for Maris Piper pots in their skins, onions steamed, and carrots steamed too, the ham was so tender it melted in my mouth, the carrots had 2 mins then I put butter in with them, then I gave them another 2 mins in the micro.
Fay’s not had any yet as she’s bee at the SECC in Glasgow all day at the Britain’s Got Talent show.

I was going to have pasta tonight but my daughter and I were painting the walls in the stairwell and OH decided he would cook us fish and chips instead (again) no contest!
