Shopped at Tesco today - so for the evening meal tonight - it was a pizza, very easy - At the big Tesco shops you can custom choose your own and then take it home and cook it. Ours was - thin base, tomato, cheese, ham, chickenm mushroom and olives (+ onion put on at home). They are as good as completely home made, I think.
hot dogs tonight, proper meals over the weekend now i have a few days off
Sainsburys delivered my groceries earlier this week, including a nice joint of beef, will defrost later today - then full roast beef, onions, parsnips and potatoes and Yorkshire puds for Sunday lunch tomorrow.
Some of your meals particularly this one make me drool. I am low fatting at the moment to lose some weight. Leak mash and cauliflower cheese hmmmmmmmmmmmm
While I wither away on Weigh Watchers baked beans and dry toast Mr Atkins diet ate a creamy chicken korma.
Thank you Cookie. It’s difficult cutting down on food, I know because I do it from time to time:mrgreen: You could of course have the leek mash without butter, just add a little skimmed milk instead and use low fat cheese for the sauce. Now the sausages are a different matter:twisted: You could use quorn sausages but I must admit that I find them quite disgusting.
Food is not the top of my list at the moment as I have gone off it almost completely, about three mouthfuls and I am full.Dont even fancy chocolate.Cant remember if I have had breakfast somedays and dont eat lunch. I cook at teatime and eat then. Tonight its Sausage and Blackpudding with a tomato, done in the oven, tomorrow it will be sliced beef with yorkshires and veg, have to cook for Joe as he eats for both of us.
Today’s evening meal will be, braised liver and onions with jacket potato and a mix of vegetables. It’s quite a healthy meal but I only cook it occasionally.

Spag Bol…made with quorn mince. I put loads of onion in, oxo or marmite and other bits…very tasty and healthy.
Am getting set for 25th January - Burns night. Have my Haggis, potatoes, Swede, and parsnips which I will steam and mash with a knob of butter. Not keen on whisky, a little harsh on my palate, but I have plenty of Brandy to wash it down with.

Tut, tut Ann darlin’ - you’ve just undergone major surgery and need to rebuild your strength, you need something far more substantial than that.
I had a full Sunday roast of roast beef, potatoes, parsnips and onions along with yorkshire puds and other steamed veg. There was enough of the beef joint to allow me to save some for other meals. Yesterday, I carved another large chunk from the joint and make myself a beef stew with suet dumplings. There is enough left in the pot for me to finish it later today, and I still have some of the beef left to perhaps make a curry with later this week.
Home made soup will be arriving on the menu today. I shall make a low fat leek and potato soup for me and a nice creamy chicken soup for Mr Atkins.
