What are you having for lunch/dinner? (Part 1)

Good grief, Susie…ONE baked potato? One whole potato, or a small piece?

I’m having…

Beef slices
Roast potato, parsnip and sweet potato
Carrot and broccoli
Cauli cheese
Red cabbage (from Sainsbury’s, with Apple and other stuff)
Frozen yorkies (fresh had to be thrown)
Gravy

Strawberries and cream

(Cheese and crackers for lunch)

Half a dozen new potatoes (skins on) sliced in half, sprayed with garlic One-Cal oil, seasoned with salt and black pepper and cooked in the oven.

2 x kebabs made with cubed pork, slices of ginger and a yellow pepper, again sprayed with the garlic oil and seasoned before placing in the oven with the spuds after they’ve been cooked for half an hour. A further ten minutes in the oven and job done.

Very nice they were too.

Hi Jazzi, yes just one small roast potato, I don’t actually like potatoes, especially Mash I hate it.

That’s a lot of vegs there Jazzi, good for you though.

Judd your Kebabs sounds nice, I used to always make my own kebabs using Chicken cubes rubbed in tandoori spice and garlic, with red & yellow peppers and courgettes.

Dinner was gorgeous but had to throw the yorkies away (the frozen ones) as too old and hard.

Its boring Boiled Egg Salad today.

Susie darlin’ - try boiling/steaming a sweet potato, swede, parsnip and celeriac. When cooked and softened, drain off water, empty veg into a bowl, add a large knob of butter and mash them all down. Mashed potato per se, can be a bit boring, but mashing sweet potato and veg is excellent.

I don’t like Sweet Potato either UJ.

Alright, Susie darlin’ - leave out potato altogether and mash the veg with a knob of butter.

OK UJ, I shall obey.

Peruvian chicken tonight.
My dear wife cooks superbly.

Susie I’m another that hates mashed spud and just about any other mashed veg

Tonight it’s HM wedges , cut, nuke, season and bake

With chicken and salad I’m starved and am looking for it

Thought I had a pack of micro rice and intended cooking some chicken breast pieces with a stir fry sauce. No rice. So ended up with bread and marmalade.

Unfortuneatly i’m going to make Cheese & Onion Potato Pie today because my Husband loves it, I might have 2 tablespoons of it and he will have the whole pie dish, serving it with Smoked Haddock and Fine beans.

Am dining out with a friend today - we’re off to the ‘Treacle Mine’!!!

I havent had that for years and years

We weren’t rich enough to have it as a side, it was dinner

My auntie used to make huge ones to feed the huge hoard of kids she had staying at hers, there were always about 12 cousins staying overnight, such fun times

Anyways it was supposed to be curry. I had some lamb curry left over in the freezer and I found what I thought was chicken curry but it turned out to be spag Bol

So its going to be gammon and Ill turn the spag Bol into a small lasagne which will do my lunches in work the rest of the week

The lamb curry Ill pad out with a bit of veg and make a dhal or aubergine curry for Friday

Going out today to the Indian Restaurant, so no cooking for me, hooray.

Hospital visit this morning, so went and had ‘fry up’ breakfast at a little transport cafe not far from the hospital - it was fabulous!!!
