Have removed chicken breast from freezer (it’s now quietly defrosting), later on will peel and chop appropriate veg and place chicken and veg in oven and make some gravy to accompany it all.
Not feeling the best today so will have boiled eggs and toast I think. Grace is out at a friends for pizza and Nathan is bringing home fish and chips for him and Steven. So not too much cooking for me today.

Doing toasties for lunch today, it’s that sort of weather. Tuna and cheese for meat eaters and cheese and mushroom for me.
Got a fruit tea cake each too.
Roast chicken dinner today, all the trimmings, veg from the garden
Whilst that’s cooking I shall make a big pot of veg broth for hubby to take to work with him this coming week, it’s freezing here
I had a roast beef Sunday lunch at the pub today so not going to be having very much for tea later…maybe a slice of tea bread and butter

We’re having a family lunch today in celebration of Mrs Malcolm’s birthday tomorrow…homemade tomato and garlic soup and roast beef sandwiches plus every kind of party food and salads you can imagine.
I have been up and cooking in the kitchen since 5am !!

Fancy poached eggs on toast for lunch today possibly I’ve I can get the tin open a couple of tinned tomatoes with it.
Cheese and tomato bagette for lunch and chicken en croute with mash and peas for tea later
Home made Vegetable and Lentil soup for Lunch, and Toad in the Hole for my evening meal.
Beans and sausage on toast followed by a mince pie.

Removed Rabbbit from freezer and letting it quietly defrost. Tomorrow’s rabbit stew with parsnips, carrots, swede, celeriac, leeks, lentils and suet dumplings.

For lunch I cooked a fresh Morrisons beefburger (had one yesterday), melted cheese on top, and put in a sandwich. Yummy.
Supper was chicken kiev, cheesy potato and peas. And half a mandarin trifle. A small, not a large! Not that greedy. Lol.
We also had Chicken Kiev with spicy boiled potatoes and peas.
Man from Sainsburys called this morning and brought me, among other things a nice piece of beef - cost me £12.90, but before putting it away in the freezer, I unwrapped it, and cut it into three decent joints, which would give me up to 12 meals spread amongst the three joints - which means main ingredient in each meal = £1.30 per meal. Lots of roast beef and then beef stew with suet dumplings!!!
