Honey baked Pork chop:
Place chop in casserole dish. Smear with whole grain mustard. Pour 3 Tbls runny honey over chop. Cover with casserole dish lid. Place in oven and cook at 190oc for approx 45 - 60 mins.
In meantime: - peel and chop accompanying vegetables and steam. Make gravy with Bisto powder and Oxo cube.
When cooked serve chop on plate, add vegetables at side and pour gravy over whole.
Bon Appetite!!!
Chicken stew with a selection of veg and new potatoes this evening
not sure what or if we are having a pud
OOOh that sounds like a good idea. When I was a child mum would steam the dumplings over a stew so that we had one with the stew and one with crunchy brown sugar or golden syrup with a little lemon juice for ‘afters’
Lunch is a home made bread roll with salmon and two small gingerbread men sneaked from the ones I have made for the twins
Dinner will be cottage pie (made with braising steak not mince ) and vegetables followed by damsons from the feezer with custard

Home made soup chez moi: the one with everything in it. Carrot, onion, garlic, celery, tomato, mushroom, lentils, barley, corn, white beans, cauliflower, shredded cabbage, tubetti, pinch of oregano, pinch of tumeric, a clove and some peppercorns in chicken stock, with finely shredded mozzarella on top when in the bowl. And a ciabatta roll. More of the chocolate mousse cake for dessert.
I like the sound of that soup Eileen
Thanks, Marian … it changes a bit depending what’s on hand, but it’s always tasty!
I had a cheese, bacon and mushroom omelette
had brown rice with raw vegies and a few nuts
and a bit of dark choclate
Had a pork chop casserole yesterday, but later today will have a chicken breast (chopped, fried with onion and garlic) and then add some stir fry veg and a Hoi Sin sauce with some noodles too!!!
Got bitten by the homemade soup bug so I shall make some lentil soup today. Will buy some winter vegetables which I shall roast, put them in the blender add some stock and hey presto soup. I will also be getting some beef to make a large pot of chillie some to eat some to freeze.
Can you save some soup for me Cate, I’ll be over later then
You would be very welcome. I took a leaf out of your book and started giving Ruud Carrots as treats now when I am preparing the veg he sits and waits for the bits he knows I will drop. When I am slicing carrot pieces fly all over the place and he is ready for this game.
Thats great Cate for Ruud eating raw veggies. I have to admit that over the last couple of months I’ve kind of got out of the habit of giving carrots to the girls but noticed Bonnie’s putting on weight so must start it again…enjoy the soup
Pasta with Italian meatballs, tossed salad, ciabatta roll tonight.
