Bought a piece of beef from Sainsburys in the week, cost less than a fiver - roasted it with potatoes, carrots, parsnips & an onion - beef was delightfully tender and very tasty. Enough of the joint left to make a lovely stew and dumplings tomorrow (licks lips).

I may order a home delivery,it`s not often I get things wrong but the curry I made is awful. Meat is tough and the spice mixture has no magic.Oh how I miss the chip van at times.
Smoked Mackerel (with black pepper on cos that’s what they had at the supermarket) and salad … tomato, orange coloured pepper and the last bits of an Iceburg lettuce.

Think I will have to do a home delivery soon cos I can not get frozen fruit in my hight street stores and also, it’s too hot to get a bus over to BIG Tesco’s and stock up.
Made up a pasta n sauce, and cooked two hash browns.
We was going to have Chilli tonight until we saw how hot it was going to be. Instead we had cold chicken salad.
As reported yesterday, I made a (curried) beef stew with suet dumplings in my cauldron and there is enough of it left for me to more today too.
I am thinking of a Spaghetti Carbonara for tonight, not a lot of cooking and quite light. Far too hot to be in the kitchen for too long.
I shall probably have another piece of smoked mackerel and salad this evening
We are having a roast today:
Roast Gammon, R. Potatoes, Fine Green beans, Carrots & Gravy.
I’m making spaghetti with a sausage-meatball, bacon and tomato sauce, and some garlic bread.

Took my eye off the ball for a minute or so. Had decided to finish it off under the grill and was answering the post about home grown tomatoes.
So hot in my kitchen yesterday afternoon and evening, after I ate some more of the beef stew yesterday lunch-time, the remains of it ‘went off’ overnight, so I had to throw it away:cry:
Made myself a sausage casserole for today instead.
Veggie chilli with rice here this evening.
Curry with ground pork, green peppers, and onions -good for hot days.
We are having Lambs Liver, Mash, Peas and Onion gravy today.
