Tesco’s fishcake (the thick fresh ones at £1.50 for two) and Cole slaw … not home made cos I can’t be bothered just now and it was reduced to 12p
Goats cheese tarts with apple/celery/watercress salad.
Stewed plumbs from the freezer
stir fried veggies with tuna, was tasty!
Hmmm strange combination Rachel darlin’ - where’s the chips (even if they are oven chips) and pickled onions???
NOOOOOOO … you can NOT have a pickled onion with fishcakes of any kind … YUK ! and I avoid potatoes. They are present in the fishcakes innit ![]()
Today we had: Chicken Kiev, Roast Potatoes, Parsnips, Brussels, Carrots and Gravy.
Today is homemade Shepherd’s Pie with new potatoes, fried cabbage with onions, nutmeg, salt & pepper and carrots.
Defrosting a chicken breast, so will do a stir-fry later on. Haven’t yet decided whether to do a chinese sweet & sour, or an Indian curry.
Will that be made from scratch Joe, or will it be out of a can/jar ?
Not sure, could be either.
I love a chicken madras, and sometimes I make it from scratch, but it’s never as good as a takeaway from my local Indian.
Do you have a good recipe ?
Not exactly, I tend to make it with whatever I have in my store cupboard at the time, so f’r insance I use dried fruit (saltanas/Raisins), sweet pickle, Lime Pickle, as well as Curry powder, Garam masala & Cuminand with either stir-fry veg or mixed veg.
Hardly authentic Joe but that’s what so good about home cooking, you can put in what you like.
I use a special masala from Bangladesh and add more garlic, chilli, cumin, coriander and turmeric.
I had a corned beef and tomato sandwich for dinner didnt have any lunch as didnt fancy anything.
We had flash-fried, butterflied chicken breasts, with sautéed potatoes and ratatouille.
Hi Malcolm,
This is my curry that I make.
Onions/Garlic/Fresh Ginger.
Cubed Chicken.
1 tbsp. of each: Gram Masala, Cumin, Tumeric, Curry Powder, Tikka Masala.
Fresh Coriander, Chillies, sachet of Coconut Cream, and 1 tblsp. of Madras Paste.
Today its marinated Chicken Breasts with Roast Potatoes, parsnips, swede and broccoli.
Thanks for that Susie…looks good !
shall probably be having something light for lunch…have a sausage veg and potato casserole doing in the slow cooker for later.
