What are you having for lunch/dinner? (Part 1)

 UJ I had a good lunch earlier so I was not exactly starving. It was lovely but filling .

Making a sausage casserole today.

I fired off the day with a late breakfast / lunch of mixed veggies - onions - mushrooms with a topping of quorn. Very nice it was too but then my sister called in with a bag of white chocolate drops which were a hell of a lot nicer  . I should really go for a run now to work them off.

Wohaa - my chocs have arrived and I only ordered them yesterday: 500 grams of white choc drops and 500 grams of milk choc drops. Gonna have a few now with a hot cup of coffee  .

Tonight lamb leg chops done in the George Fpreman, sweet potato chips, peas, carrots and broccoli.
Love the GF all the fat runs away into the tray, it was delicious.

Had a Superdrug lozenge for supper

Only one? Rachel, you’ll be fading away…

Yes just the one … it made me feel queasy

Well the meat eaters had seen a TV ad for richmond sausages and thought they looked nice so I bought some and did them for lunch the verdict was yuk don’t do them again. Serves them right for thinking they would prefer them to my home made ones  They enjoyed the chips and peas though.

You only have to look at Richmond sausages to know they’re not going to be great. We omnivores (not merely meat eaters !) deserve a lot better than Richmond! Just shows that you can’t trust TV ads.

Thanksliving rather than Thanksgiving

Not that I am not grateful, but in terms of a traditional Thanksgiving dinner which will be going on in every American home in this country tomorrow, I won’t be part of it.

Partly as a vegetarian, the turkey which is always the centerpiece of this particular holiday, does not appeal, plus the rest of the stuff, is just not to my taste. I am American born but of Italian descent and my food tastes are just like my Uni degree - foreign language.

I love food from around the globe, most particularly Thai, Mexican, Indian, Nepali, Egyptian, Burmese, Vietnamese, etc.

So while my fellow Americans will be stuffing themselves silly with turkey, ham, green beans, peas, mashed potatoes ( snooze-ville for me ! ), I will be staying home making a lovely Turkish soup - it is called Turkish Bride soup and it is delish !

Nothing much has appealed to me for the past few days due to MY COLD coughs weakly and looks pathetic

However, I have rallied and eaten a fishcake this evening

Awaiting sympathetic phone call …

Nothing planned for lunch, but it’s fish tonight (nothing religious). I’m cooking a ‘medley’ of Tuna, sea trout and swordfish with green beans & potatoes.

Must remember to leave in some pork from the freezer tomake a curry tomorrow.

We’re going to have some slices of honey roast ham with fried eggs, mashed potato and Branston baked beans … mmm :-)[URL=“http://www.over50sforum.com//uk.pinterest.com/pin/create/extension/”]

Just about to defrost the freezer in the hallway so will see what I can find in the bottom of that. I believe there is a lamb steak my meat eater can have and some vegetable rice dish I will defrost. But if I find anything better I will defrost that :-p

There’s some woolly mammoths in Siberia … you could share one with Joe

Aww poor wooly mammoth I am a long time vegetarian I think the mammoth would be safe with me - UJ on the other hand would have it in the oven covered in pastry in no time I am sure

:-):-) Now there’s a thought!!! Question is, is there enough flour, eggs and milk to cover a woolly mammoth and is my oven big enough to cook it in???

I am eating some French bread and cheese for brunch.

Cheese has been ‘off’ the menu for several years but now that my SERIOUSLY UNPLEASANT COLD is weakening, I think I should be allowed to eat whatever I fancy.

A mammoth burger & chips Rachel darlin’ ???;-)
