What are you having for lunch/dinner? (Part 1)

UJ, I can assure you the pies are big enough for my appetite!

Oh, my post should have read ‘buy these pies…’ I have no idea how it ended up as ‘pie these pies…’

Had tinned carrot and coriander soup, with buttered bread and croutons for lunch. Got 3 small chicken drumsticks marinating in Schwartz ‘Perfect Shake’ chargrilled chicken flavour. I usually have Maggi packets or something similar indoors but have run out. I have found a sachet of chicken and sweetcorn rice, so that’ll go nicely with the flavoured chicken.

Been ‘naughty’ this afternoon - found my loaf just starting to ‘go off’ this morning, so rather than throw it away, scrunched up the half-dozen slices and crust that I had left and made a bread pudding this afternoon - now have the smell of cinnamon, all spice and mixed spice wafting in from the kitchen. When its sufficiently cool, will cut a couple of slices, place 'em in a bowl and pour custard over them - Mmmmmmm - delicious!!!

Reminded me…still had some bread pud left over so some is in the mini oven to warm up.

Hi

Simple tonight, eggs, chips and beans.

Comfort food.

Comfort food for me, casserole and dumplings and then ate 3 Fox’s brandy snaps and my excuse for eating them is that I have to make hay while the sun shines because I can only buy them just before Christmas up here.

Toad in the hole, new pots, cabbage and carrots with nice thick gravy

Not had Toad in the hole for years, lovely.

Today I am making a casserole using Chicken Thighs, I have skinned and boned them, added salt, pepper, mixed herbs, 1 tb. curry powder, sliced leaks and carrots, poured over a tin of chopped tomatoes and used a Coleman’s Chicken Casserole mix with a bit of water.

New potatoes & Broccoli.

Hopefully, it will turn out alright.

Remainder of tinned carrot and coriander soup, for lunch. With bread and butter.

Sausage, mash, beans, onions and gravy for supper.

Steamed steak & Kidney pudding & steamed veg to accompany with a little gravy. For ‘pudding’ will cut more slices of bread pudding and pour custard over them.

Fish and chips tonight …and apple puff for after mmm

Lunch was half of Morrisons takeaway salad selection, a small portion of tinned tuna, half a buttered roll and a cuppa.

Tonight will probably be just a pizza.

Tomorrow I will put on a pork and cider casserole, with an apple and packet mix. That’ll do nicely for a few days. (And smell nice too!)

Tonight Im having pork and apple burgers (butchers own) and mash with broccolli and cauliflower and thick gravy …yoghurt for after.

Today we had Hunters Chicken with Roast Potatoes, Yorkshire Puddings, Carrots and Fine Beans.

Just had for supper Cheese on Toast.

A four-pie lunch yesterday - two steak pies, followed by two Cherry & custard pies - delicious!!!

Pork Stroganoff [fillet of pork, chestnut mushrooms, onions and peppers, loads of garlic] last night with rice

Today it’s home-made chicken pie, chips and corn on the cob.

Today I am making Vegetable Curry and Pasta.

Tonight: Soup with Tiger Bread.

For dinner, it will be a rib roast. It’s from ‘Belted Galloway’ cattle raised on a local farm and sold though an independant butcher - cheaper than Tesco too!

For lunch, I will probably make soup.

I’ve had white and milk chocolate for brekkie and lunch. Now I’m preparing for a long run to burn the calories off and then I will probably have more of the same for my dinner  . Keep this going tomorrow as well and by late afternoon I should be crying out for veggies. Good way to get rid of sugar urges - as in overdose em out of your system.

Works for me  .

Chicken casserole with mixed vegs and potatoes

Not sure I can eat anymore chocolate as my teeth are hurting - not the gums or anything but the teeth themselves. I think I will try sucking the chocolate in the middle of my mouth keeping it away from my teeth. Yeah, that might work  .
