Tonight don’t know yet, maybe Cheese and Crackers!!
For lunch I will make up some tuna, sweetcorn and mayo (I have 2 tins to use up) sandwiches to take to the hospital with me, along with a flask of coffee. Will consume after acupuncture.
For supper I have a new dish bought in Asda…pulled pork in bbq sauce, and potato wedges. Mmmmmm, sounds delish.
cooked tonight’s dinner this morning as it thickens and tastes richer when left for several hours, corned beef lobbies, gorgeous!
Just had Chicken Curry and Cous Cous.
for lunch I had Morrisons red pepper soup with a wholemeal crusty roll, I don’t normally buy store branded soups as they usually aren’t as tasty as Baxters or Heinz but it was delicious and cost a mere 45p, will be buying several more when I next shop!
Mushroom tagliatelle for my main meal.
A quickie, chomping it on the run, as ever
What is/are corned beef lobbies? Recipe? ![]()
I wondered the same thing, Cheshire Cat - I googled it and it doesn’t sound half bad!! Other half loves his corned beef.
Apparently the name comes from the end of the week leftovers that were all lobbed in a pot and cooked, though Honey will know far more about it, naturally. ![]()
very simple CC, potatoes , sliced carrots, onion and a tin of corned beef chopped and added to a pan of water with mixed herbs, a few dashes of worcester sauce, I added 2 Oxo cubes and black pepper, cook on top of the stove for around an hour, when the veggies are cooked, turn off the heat and leave them to cool, when reheated it thickens and is delicious!
I fill a large saucepan so there’s always leftovers for supper, greedy mare that I am:-p
It’s also called Scouse or Lob scouse, there are different variations, some use stewed steak or lamb but my recipe is cheap and just as tasty
dinner is cooking on the hob, I have a three tier steamer so it’s full of white cabbage, small waxy potatoes, broccoli and cauli, I’m cooking quorn peppered steaks in the oven, they’re really tasty and healthy too!
It sounds good Honey, I will try it.
my partner ate 2 servings, greedy monkey!:-p I’ve shown him how to make them and he does a great job but obviously I’m not going to say they’re as good as mine;-)
I’ll give that a go one day. What thickens it?
Had cheesy beans (finished an opened can) on toast for lunch then tonight I have a cheapo cottage pie, but to add taste I will sprinkle some tomato crisps on top, with cheese around the edges, and cook in the oven. Meant to have the beans with it but will probably do peas.
