What are you having for lunch/dinner? (Part 1)

I am going to make Thai Chicken Curry and Singapore Noodles today for lunch and tonight just a sandwich.

Yay:041::041::041: It’s Friday!!! - Fish 'n chips !!!

We just had Mini Chicken Roasts which consists of Chicken Breast wrapped in bacon, chipolata, stuffing and gravy, we had greens, swede and potatoes.

Bought some large fresh mackerel filets for tonight’s dinner. Grilling them and serving with gooseberry sauce, small roast potatoes and green beans.

Indian takeaway hurrah !

Making a Shepherd’s Pie today with vegetables.

Yesterday we had a chicken and gravy pie from Aldi with creamed pots, broc, cauli and carrots. Have to say that the pie was crammed full of chunks of real chicken and the gravy and pastry were really quite tasty.

For pud we each had one of the Aldi choc and chipped almond coated real vanilla ice cream lollies, and believe me these knock spots of Magnums.

But the rest of the evening did not go very well. I had just taken a huge turkey thigh out from the freezer for todays dinner and as I turned around I lost my balance and went down like a ton of bricks. (I now know what they mean when they refer to something scaring the sh** out of a person, having had to hobble to the loo as soon as I was back on my feet) Landed mainly on my left knee, narrowly missed face planting the cats litter tray, and have somehow taken a couple of layers of skin off my left forearm. I have to say my knee hurt like he double hockeysticks. But relief was almost immediate after a judicious application of that Volterol they keep advertising on t.v. and a bag of frozen peas. A couple of times last night I was woken up by pain in the knee having turned over and put pressure on it, and today my back is so stiff I can barely move, in fact am planning on going back to bed in a mo.

We are a right pair as my son has been off work a couple of days with a really heavy cold which seems to have morphed into bronchitis as he is coughing like an old man.

Empathy for your knee and back, so glad it wasn’t worse. Hope your bed rest makes you feel better.

I also buy from Aldi and think their stuff is spectacularly good and added to that I save a great deal shopping there even by Asda prices.

Ah you poor thing Daisymay, hope you get plenty of bed rest and your Son.

By the way, what happened to the Turkey Leg?:lol:

Thank you to both for good wishes, have just woke from a nap (tell you what those valerian capsules are good, talk about about sleep of the dead lol). The turkey thigh was safe in its plastic tray, and is about to go into the oven to be served with Charlotte new pots, some kale, runner beans sweet corn and stuffing, and of course gravy.

Found some diced beef in 'fridge which had forgotten about, and which has gone quite dark so should be lovely and tender. So will prepare a beef and onion casserole ready to sit in bottom of oven once Turkey cooked and that will be tomorrow sorted. Am going to use both chopped ‘banana’ shallots and teeny tiny round ones cos this round ones practically dissolve into the gravy, uber yummy.

Had a Weightwatchers meal today, decided to eat ‘light’ today…did follow it by a Mars ice cream, naughty but very nice. :007:

Had an excellent Guinea fowl with broad beans, petit posy and celeriac mash. Not forgetting a very good Hungarian white wine.

Well after about five hours took the beef and onion casserole out and son had to ‘test’ it, pronouncing the beef as outrageously tender. Today will add a layer of thinly sliced spuds (bit like in a hot pot) and cover that with a layer of suet crust pastry, to be served with mash and veggies (to be decided later).

Still feeling a bit stiff, but son is obviously feeling better as he has just jumped into shower, although have to say last night he was snoring like a bear. Reckon by tomorrow we will both be back on track. Except! I woke this am with a bit of a sore throat! But, this could simply be because of the high dosage of antihistamines I am on drying me up, lets hope have not caught his ruddy cold, or will marmalise him. lol

Ooh daisymay that dish sounds to die for!!! A meal of that should send all your germs scuttling!

Well thankyou Cranberry, I like to ‘tweak’ things to make them just a little different, avoids the monotony of the same things week in and week out.

Have defrosted a pork slice and will casserole it later with mushrooms, onions, parsnips, celeriac and carrots.

Roast chicken dinner.

Bangers and Mash today.

Today we are having Chicken Breast Roast Dinner and Vegs.
