Will bring me soup plate, Knife, fork and spoon and I’ll be there Saturday lunchtime DM - I luuuvvv stew and dumplings - one of my favourite meals!!!
We had Chicken Casserole with new potatoes and swede today.
Just had a portion of home made leek & potato soup with a buttered roll (pretending I’m at a hotel!), then in awhile will have the pork and rice from yesterday.
just had tatties, mince, cauli and cabbage for dinner
Tonight I used up a cooked chicken breast, half a carott, half a pink onion (yup pink, not white not red but pink, who’d a thunk it?), some baby corn that was lurking, some kale that was also lurking, and half a pkt of noodles, threw in assorted spices and ‘voila’ one luverly chow mein.
Oh, and of course started the stew. Problem is twofold, first so much veggies, so much lentils and pearl barley 'tis almost solid, and second, son keeps ‘tasting’ soon there will be none left!
Well so far today I have had two bowls of Tesco frozen fruit which had been defrosted then heated up in the micro. Very tasty with plenty of fruit that I like such as pears. This evening I will be sticking with my usual of a massive salad consisting of hard white and red cabbage, carrots, beetroot, peppers, onions, cucumber, lettuce, tomatoes and courgettes made by the ‘Salad Chef’ I now own. This lovely salad will be accompanied with a breast fillet of chicken cooked to perfection so that it is really juicy.
Delicious
.
What???:shock::shock: no roast tatties, parsnips, carrots and onion???
I think his Chicken Salad sounds very nice to me.
Today we had Roast Gammon, Roast Potatoes, Roast Parsnips, Baked Onion, Carrots & French Beans.
Tonight I am making Bread and Butter Pudding.
Chicken ~ hot or cold ~ has always been a favourite for me and I tend to stick with the same food day in day out, but today I’m having some breaded fish cos it was reduced in our supermarket.
Green beans to go with it
No roasties. Just munched my way through 5kgs of banana chips thinking they were low cal treats but it turned out they were deep fat fried ones! Hate to think what they have done to my waist line so roasties are off the menu for now
.
Made a chicken pie for the boys, steamed chicken breast and vegetables for OH, vegetable pie for the vegetarians amongst us and a big plate of chips in case anyone is wanting them.
Also made a syrup sponge and custard for the non dieters amongst us.
And you didn’t tell me Julie ![]()

Aww I’ll get them to save you something tomorrow they are having pizza and cheese cake then.
My supper was a mixture, ie using up odds n sods! Portion of home made leek n tater soup, a piece of quiche warmed up, then fried potatoes, ham and my last egg. Banana and cream.
Only got a few days left at home and doubt everything will be used up. Off to sister for lunch tomorrow, and I still have veg n stuff to use up.
Can see a big pot of veggie soup in your future.
Tomorrow 'tis gonna be one of my concoctions. Dry fry some lardons of smoked streaky, then add some diced chicken, meanwhile cook sufficient farfalle pasta, and also some French beans cut to about 1", sweet corn and maybe petit pois, then drIn pasta, empty back into pan and add veg, meat and can of condensed mushroom soup (adding milk if mixture too dry) empty into large square/oblong baking dish and cover with grated cheese and bread crumbs and bake until top is golden and sauce bubbling.
We are having an Indian Take-away today.
Chicken Tikka, Rice, Bombay Potatoes & Veg. Curry.
I got up late, so had my breakfast at 10 am - won’t need lunch now, so I will have my meal later. Probably stir fry with rice and sweet & sour sauce.
I am making a big pan of carrot and chestnut soup to freeze in portions - ready for the imminent Arctic weather!
