What are you having for lunch/dinner? (Part 1)

O Wrinkly, I tried that red bush stuff once after seeing it advertised as being so very good for you, to me it tasted the way TCP smells!! (shudders at the memory).

Tonight will probably have soup and a sandwich as son is not going to be home until after 9.30 which is way too late for me. Have some chicken fajita thingies I bought reduced which will bung in oven for him though.

pasta with chicken and veg for dinner…

Today we are having Salad, maybe sandwich tonight.

Something soft - have had bad tooth ache for past couple of days - dentist is extracting it this morning. Have been on starvation diet since Tuesday, so got some leeway to make up - have steak & Kidney puddings in freezer - may have one of those.

Only you could think a starvation diet is steak and kidney pudding LOL

Well shopped last night so sausages for the meat eater and eggs for me with salad.

A huge wing of skate each tonight with baby new potatoes and a side-salad.

cold meat salad for dinner today…

For us (son & daughter coming as well tonight) we are having boned shoulder of lamb, marinated in Plum Sauce, roasted, with a Thai Green & Red Papaya salad and Quince Pie with custard, ice cream & cream. All home made.
Yum !!

Seriously dischuffed this morning :twisted::twisted::twisted:

I organised a delivery from Sainsburys they were due here sometime between 10.00 and 11.00. Realising I would be a little late, I rang pie shop at 09.50 and asked them to put a couple of their scrumptious pork and apple pasties aside for me, only to be told they had all sold out:cry::cry::cry::cry:

When the man from sainsburys arrived was told that they had run out of parsnips!!!:shock::shock: so had put my shoes on and go down town anyway and purchase parsnips from local greengrocer.:twisted::twisted:

Going to do a roast chicken with roast courgettes, onions and tomatoes for meat eater.

Using the same stuffing mix I have made for the chicken I am going to do stuffed tomatoes, roast courgettes and onions for me.

Have some low fat natural yogurt and an apple so will cook the apple and mash and mix that with the yogurt for a rare pudding for us both.

Well we decided on bangers and mash for dinner tonight, but cannot decide whether to have with swedy mash, processed peas (water from these makes fab gravy) and onion gravy, creamy mash and baked beans, or colcannon and cabbage? will have to consider carefully.

Never mind Uncle Joe, You probably needed the exercise anyway.

Had Fish and Chips tonight.

Home-made crispy lamb pie for me tonight. Not made it for ages so it was a treat.

Sandi darlin’ - you’ll get to know me more eventually, but me and exercise are at t’other end of the spectrum from one another - don’t do exercise - firstly because its too painful (have chronic arthritis - have had both hips and both knees surgically replaced) secondly lungs are badly scarred having had five pulmonary emboli.

will be having chicken curry tonight…

Having a Indian take-away at lunchtime today.

Sunday again - means my normal ‘Sunday roast’ again!!!

Chicken salad for meat eater as he is working and I am not sure what time he will get home so has to be easily ready when he gets here.

Egg salad for me and I have my great niece here this after noon so she will have which ever she fancies, depends if she is in meat eater mood or veggie, although as she is realising what meat actually is she is tending to be mostly veggie recently.

Tonight it’s plaice stuffed with prawns, herbs & mushrooms which is then poached in white wine and thickened with cream.

Julie, I’m glad that your great niece realises what meat is - too many people think that it comes from Tesco. We’ve never hidden our children from the realities of where food comes from - this year we’re even raising our own free range, rare breed pigs for meat.
