chicken liver curry (chinese style) with rice salad for lunch and home made tomato and basil soup with home made bread (parmesan and sun dried tomato) for tea.
I’m thinking breaded pork chops… mashed potatoes and gravy and some fresh green beans right out of my garden… which I need to go pick in a few minutes… DH is working until 6pm this evening so I’ll try and catch up on some chores and such today…
Fresh kippers tonight, they have just arrived from the Wear area.
I am not being funny really I’m not but how do you get a fresh kipper? I thunk they were smoked and therefore quite old and wrinkly.
Fresh kipper would be herrings I guess as kippers are smoked herrings.
So unsmoked herring? As in Fresh ham… as opposed to smoked? But then it wouldn’t be ham would it… it would be a pork leg
Come come ladies, you can get them frozen and I don’t know how old, but these are caught gutted and smoked immediately, you can’t get fresher than that.
Oh yes they were delicious as well.
How long does it take to smoke your kipper? :-p
Not a clue, but I think I’ll stick to tobacco.
Just bunged a quiche in the oven, used up the last of the smoked gammon (minced it) some roasted red peppers cut into strips, some diced left over chorizo, and cheddar, gruyere and pecorino romano plus 3 eggs, 2 yolks and about 300 ml milk. The egg whites will go into tomorrows strawberry pavlova (which have never made before so wish me luck). Will have the quiche with some new potatoes, and some salad methinks.
Pâté sandwich over at the allotment for lunch, then this evening I had roast beef slices, roasties (freshly picked potatoes), parsnip and sweet potato courgette and carrot (freshly picked) Yorkies, then jelly n ice cream.
The only failure was the kohl rabi: think it’s past its best now (too hard).
Glad you enjoyed em, couldn’t resist the mischief making I do apologise.
home made lentil soup for lunch…meatballs with creamy mash …carrots and cauli…for dinner…
Shrimp and broccoli with alfredo sauce and farfalle pasta.

For tea tonight I had a bowl of leek and tattie (potato) soup with two home made rolls and butter. Lovely.
Just for a change (and because it is far too early for lunch) how about breakfast?
Just went down to the Jitra market and bought Nasi Lemak, this one is fish. Wrapped in banana leaf cost me less than $1. Yummy eh?
Seriously missing my my ‘full Irish’ breakfasts - eggs, bacon, sausages, black pudding, mushrooms, soda bread & potato bread. LUVERLY!!!
Bloody hell! if I ate that for breakfast I wouldn’t need to eat for two days. Sounds about as good for you as eating at McDonalds.
Pork steak with broccoli and broad beans for meat eater, marrow, broccoli and broad beans with toasted tofu for me.
