What are you having for lunch/dinner? (Part 1)

Thank You Uncle Joe.

On the go: roast potatoes, sweet potatoes, kohl rabi and parsnip, together with sausage meat and sausage meat/stuffing mixed. This will accompany sliced roast pork, apple, carrot and courgette.

For dessert, a key lime pie maybe. Or ice cream.

Last night my son cooked us a king prawn chow mein, with baby sweetcorn, reconstituted dried shiitake mushrooms, sugar snap peas, red onion, bean sprouts and noodles, it was lush. Tonight though he works until 8pm and will not be home until 8.30, so he will have had a substantial lunch at work, and I have just had a tin of mulligatawny soup and some b&b.

We had Lean Gammon with new potatoes and Vegetables.

Today we are having Salmon Salad, and a sandwich tonight.

A Chinese Feast. Chicken & Sweetcorn Soup followed by 4 different stir-fry dishes with rice and noodles. Lovely.

We have just had our lunch, homemade Pork Lasgana, Curry Rice and Flat Mushrooms.

We are having soup lunchtime and Turkey Salad this evening.

Salad is ‘rabbit food’ Susie darlin’. I never did get my steak & Kidney pud yesterday, so that is a possible option for today, or maybe 'bangers 'n mash.

Hi UJ, i’m only eating light food as i’m not at all hungry.

Tonight it’s turkey curry and Rice with peppers, green beans and mushrooms in. I’ve got lots of diced turkey anyone got any ideas for something a bit different?? Obviously lends it’self to chicken dishes.

Hi Hazel,

Turkey Stir-Fry with fresh ginger and peppers

or

Turkey soup

Or a turkey pie? carrots, peas, sweetcorn and the diced meat in a creamy white sauce, topped with puff pastry and served with new/creamed pots or even chips.

Susie darlin’ - you MUST eat - you need fuel to enable body to fight off the infection. Remember - “feed a cold, starve a fever”. Its not just an ‘old wives tale’ - there is evidence to suggest it is the correct approach.

That’ll be why you don’t get colds UJ.

Absolutely Hazel darlin’ - Susie darlin’ - take note - lots more food - fights off the infection.

I understand what you mean UJ and I do agree, but when you are not well and just can’t eat your food, what do you do. Anyway i’m gradually getting better.

Lunchtime I had Tin of Ravaoli. Tonight we are having Cod Fish Fingers, Mash and Beans.

Susie darlin’ - thats the one sure way to know if I’m seriously ill - I’m ‘off’ my food. Takes an awful lot to put me off my food.

I’m feeling much better today, very bad cough but back to eating again.

Tonight we had Gammon, new potatoes, broccoli & Carrots.

I am roasting a chicken as I type for meat eater and his friends they will have it with Yorkshire puddings and peas and sweetcorn, I am off out with dogs to see my nephews new home, he is going to feed me tonight, hoping it is his rather special cheese and broccoli flan as that is one of my favourites !
