No Hazel darlin’ - but I’m also decrepit.
your de is not as crepit as you like to make out ![]()
Think it might be tomatoes on toast today had boiled eggs and toast for breakfast so won’t be very hungry for lunch. Then just a little cottage cheese and salad for supper.
Lost another 2lb this week so diet seems to be working well
Humble pie
We are not eating much this week, we have lost our appetite a bit, we have a tummy bug, so lunchtime we had boiled egg and soliders, might have Chicken breasts and new potatoes tonight.
This reminds me of my old mum, if you had a tummy upset it was boiled eggs cos eggs ‘bind’ you. You were also given toast but no butter. Don’t forget to drink plenty so you don’t get dehydrated…Nag Nag…
Roast beef today. It was a joint on offer and a good price, so we froze it.
It has now been cooked and sliced, packed in bags ready to be frozen again.
Liver & bacon casserole today - it was delicious!!!
You are so right Cate, my Mum always gave us boiled egg if we had tummy upsets, it was very nice actually. We did try to have Chicken tonight, but both of us only ate half of our dinner. I suppose it’s one way of losing weight!!
Today we are going to have, Steak & Kidney Pudding, boiled potatoes and peas.
Making a lamb stew for meat eater and the dogs. Looking at vegetarian mince and vegetables for me.
Susiej what happened to the upset tummies??
Salmon and mexican rice for me, bit of a mix but I like it.
Way to go Susie darlin’. If it wasn’t for the fact I have a luncheon engagement with a friend - I’d come and join you.
Toad-in-the-hole, potatoes, cabbage and onion gravy.
Had a beautiful meal with my friend Tony today - had a chicken Dosa (cross between a chapati and a papadum) - this was large and when folded over was more than 12 inches long - spicy hot with cocoanut and chilli sauces, and mango chutney.:-p
Got some very much reduced portobello mushrooms last night, going to bake them with a cream cheese and chive filling, think meat eating might like that too so will do them both.
Also got a reduce lettuce so salad with them I think.
I’ll stick a baked potato in for meat eater too.
Found something I hadn’t seen before a growing lettuce box in Lidl you cut and come again its call living salad and I quite like that idea. We grew some last year and they lasted all season but I have never seen them in the greengrocery aisle. We had the lettuce with reduced lamb steaks with mint, lovely coleslaw and baked taters.
Sainsburys and tesco have been doing them for the past few years, Sounds like Lidl are catching up LOL
I hadn’t seen them before and was impressed although it takes very little to impress me these days.:surprised:
Yes I have seen those lettuce too its a good Idea , but I would plant them out if you can as they will last alot longer. I never pick my lettuce I just take what leaves I need as they keep growing more . My friend who has been growing them for years was gob smacked at this idea last year. She was cutting a whole lettuce each time she wanted on and wasted half of it. plus it saves a lot of space in the garden. as inormally only now need about 20 planted at different times to last me all year. I still have one going which has lasted through all the snow and cold weather of the winter.
You can also do this with spinach and other green leave plants.
