What are you having for lunch/dinner? (Part 1)

Stuffed mushrooms for me and homemade chicken pie for meat eater. With courgettes and leeks.

Chicken livers sautéed in garlic and chiles, with green beans and garlic mash potatoes.

on my way Mesco I love chix livers but only had fried ,curried and breaded, mmmmm :-) wonder why they don’t do a smilie smacking his lips.??

We are having a Chinese take-away tonight, can’t be bothered to cook.

We have just had, Bangers, Mash, beans and fried onions, lovely!!!

Some time ago I tried ‘Quorn’ mince and their burgers. Wasn’t that keen. This week I spied Linda McCartney (new line) Big burgers with motzerella. So I gave them a go for lunch, really tasty, very good… yum… They said to oven or grill, I fried them…

Have you tried Bean Burgers Pats, they are very nice.

Asked my 2 yr old grandson what he had for lunch at the daycare yesterday. He paused and then said “dinner!”

Chicken, roast squash, rice with mushrooms, and brussels sprouts tonight. If my daughter didn’t cook I wouldn’t bother with more than tea and a snack though. Find I don’t have much appetite.

Sue darlin’ - that’s not good - you MUST eat!!! - although I live alone, will be having my ‘traditional’ Sunday roast: Chicken, roast potatoes, roast parsnips, roast carrots, roast onion and gravy. Yesterday I bought a (Greggs) cherry Lattice pasty, so will heat that in the oven and smother it with custard for a ‘pudding’.

You’ll have to come over this side of the ‘pond’ - we’ll soon ‘spike’ your appetite.

Happy Mothers Day to all you Mums and as it is I’m having salmon with roast Mediterranean veg and rice, while sitting in conservatory with heating going full blast and pretending it’s summer.:smiley:

Is that baked beans gal…like them :!::smiley:
If so will definitely try those…

Trying slim rice today only 7.7 calories a portion, with mixed veg and meat eater is having chicken thigh, I am having quorn mince with tomato sauce.

Julie darlin’ - its Sunday - at least have a traditional ‘Sunday roast’.

Vegetarians rarely fancy full roast and quite honestly the price is too much for my meat eater to fancy it either. Really not affordable these days.

Bought a really nice piece of pork in Tesco it was half price and worked out at 2.99 per kg. I am wondering whether to cook it in the oven and make the crackling crackle or put it in the slow cooker to make pulled pork.

Not a bad price but with only one meat eater he is very happy with his chicken thighs.

Well as 'tis mothers day my son is cooking me a roast, lovely chunk of beef from Tesco last night, (half price offer) will be cooked rare, with roast spuds and parsnips, carrots, broc, cabbage and runner beans - five a day in one go. And he even has learned the art of proper gravy. The joint was a bit expensive at £12, but it does weigh a smidge under 2k, so good value. Even if we cut it in half and freeze the other half, will still get dinner today, cold with bubble and squeak tomorrow and maybe even a few sarnies.

I hope you enjoy your meal and your day

Yes baked bean burgers, very nice.:lol:

What is slim rice? never heard of it before.
