Walking and videoing

this is my solution to walking and keeping a camera steady

Smooth as silk. Amazing!

I have shown you this device before, I don’t use it much because I rarely use my camera as a video. The advantage is that it is more stable than the one you have created because the weight is lower, in fact level with your hands.

You could easily achieve the same effect by putting the handle on the other side of the bar (ie above rather than below) so it is level with the camera. I think you will find it much easier to use and the whole contraption is more compact as well as being more stable.

No you are so wrong using 2 hands to control a camera for videoing is far better than that. Holding that a camera or camcorder is bound to swing sideways or some other way . I have tried with my camcorder just holding the handle and it doesn’t work . For under £20 why not make up my rig and try. You can always use it for something else if you find I am not correct

You totally misunderstand.

I am not suggesting using one hand (I don’t know where you got that idea from), you still use both hands but because the handle is now on top of the bar they are now level with each other - a much easier stance to maintain and giving you far more control of the camera.

I am not going to make up your rig, as I say I rarely use the one I have which was a quarter the price of your jerry rigged one
