Vote of no confidence in Boris Johnson - Tory rebels wait for Boris Johnson to ‘blow himself up’

So which bit of it do you disagree with, because he’s listed a whole load of facts. Me thinks you didn’t read the article.

You can think what you want. I read enough to re-enforce my opinion of him and what he had to say.

Well then you’ll agree that the facts that he’s listed proves that Starmer is a liar. You don’t have to want the same things that Owen Jones wants, but they are things that Starmer said to get elected.

And as he ends his article:

But whatever happens next, ask yourself truthfully: if you care about Johnson’s dishonesty but dismiss Starmer’s, then do you really care about dishonesty at all, or do you just resent being on the receiving end of it? And when you answer – unlike Britain’s two leading politicians – try to be honest.

Dominic Raab has dismissed the idea that Boris Johnson could face a confidence vote as early as next week – describing the speculation as “Westminster froth”.

The deputy prime minister said the mood at the top of government was “fine” despite a growing number of Conservative MPs calling on the PM to resign.

That’s alright, then …

Most conservative voters problems is that Johnson is not conservative enough, nothing to do with parties.

The UK is getting like the USA - Love Boris or Hate Boris, Love Trump or hate Trump. The opposition is a home for the haters nothing more, they certainly don’t agree with policy.

These “letters” seem more to me as a stick to hit Boris over the head with to stop his green and socialist nonsense and replace the chancellor with someone who know what they are doing

One of Boris Johnson’s strongest cabinet allies has hit out out Tory MPs trying to oust him, accusing them of doing “the opposition’s work”.

Culture Secretary Nadine Dorries claimed growing calls for the PM to resign were the result a “co-ordinated campaign” by backbenchers.

Criticism of Mr Johnson among Tory MPs has increased since Sue Gray’s Partygate report last week.

But Ms Dorries said the “overwhelming” majority still backed him.

Well, she would say that, wouldn’t she …

At least she’s not crossing and uncrossing her legs.

Former attorney general Jeremy Wright, who called on Boris Johnson to resign on Monday, has been given a knighthood in the Queen’s Birthday Honours.

Days before he was named in the honours list, Mr Wright joined a growing number of voices calling for the prime minister to quit following Sue Gray’s report on Partygate.

He said events in Downing Street had caused “real and lasting damage” to the government’s authority and he had concluded “with regret” that Mr Johnson should go.

Mr Wright spent four years as attorney general, and another 12 months as culture secretary, leaving government when Boris Johnson entered Downing Street.

Sheer coincidence … :man_shrugging:

Home Secretary Priti Patel has told Conservative MPs pushing for the prime minister to resign to “forget it” and focus on “real challenges” instead. Writing letters of no confidence in him was a “sideshow”, she said. Ms Patel told the Daily Mail: “We need to concentrate on doing our jobs. This isn’t about a parade [of leadership candidates] or a contest of letters. Look at what is going on in the world right now, look at the challenges that we face domestically. We can’t ignore those. Our job is to deliver on the people’s priorities. They won’t thank the Conservative party for talking about itself at a time when people have anxieties, concerns, apprehensions.”

Ms Patel trying BJ’s smoke and mirrors tactic - she even sounds like BJ… :069:

Nowhere near enough letters yet.

Wonder how Starmer and Rayners questionnaires are going, its taking an awfully long time for them to fill them in

They’re not just any questionnaires, Bread, they’re very indepth questionnaires so, they’ll take quite a while for the Opposition Front Bench to think things through before filling them in.

Ha ha yeah that’s about right Percy :023:

he was selected by his tory peers I watched them push him forward on the night - and now they don;t like his haircut - is he a bumbling leader - yes of course but aren;t they all in some way - I know what it is - he doesn;t cut the right style for a well groomed turned out tory - well hard cheddar - you picked him and it doesn’t seem that easy to eject him?

He got Brexit done. He is the living symbol of Brexit and rubs the remainers nose in it every time he makes an appearance.

Hi
.Only Tory MPs can vote him out, only Party Members have the final say on who replaces him .

I can’t influence things in any way.

thank god for that!!

You could boo him at the Jubilee!

No, seriously, keeping up the criticism and not letting the slimeball get away with ‘moving on” could help get shot of it, as Tory MPs fear for their seats

Just another example of what a hypocrite he is

He was never a Brexiter but jumped on the bandwagon so he could be PM

So he forced through Brexit knowing it was wrong for our country just for the sake of his career

And knowing he couldn’t deliver what he promised the Brexiters and never having any intention of trying anyway

You forgot to say, in your opinion. Unless you’ve had a private conversation with Boris and he’s confided all this with you.

But he HASN’T “got BREXIT done”. He and the whole lot of the government have not followed through with the changes that (I suspect) most of us want by escaping from Brussels government and control. All Bunter did was trigger Article 50.
