Just got a steal
Panasonic LEICA DG VARIO-ELMARIT 35-100mm f/2.8 Power O.I.S. Lens [Near Mint] for £597
over here new £1000
the Elmarit version cost a bit more but better quality .
any risk involved buying on ebay from Japan? there is always risk , but hav ing bought from Japan before I find they are more honest than many other countries.
when described a near mint you would be hard pressed to be able to tell the difference from new. Seller has a 99.9% rating on ebay
18 people looking to buy it which is a good indication of worth getting
so why get this one? this has a constant F2.8 lens. this means it doesn’t go darker the higher the magnification. also the lens doen’t trumpt out further it stays the same length. All movement is inside the barrel, stops dust etc being sucked in.
I was thinking about getting a macro mft lens but th ink i can getg wawy using the 100-300mm lens with extn tubes

Hi
I regularly buy from abroad on Ebay, never had an issue and a lot cheaper.
I love your posts on photography, never understand a word but great fun researching them on the Internet.
With my eyesight I just have a point and shoot
Swimmy
Absolutely nothing wrong with a point and shoot camera.
There is a saying " The best camera you can have is the one in your hand".
What people tend to forget it is not the camera that takes the photo, it is the nose behind it that does.
Of course like anything there are a few tricks one can use to make a better photo. Even a bad photo can look great if converted to black and white.
Some expressions can also be confusion like depth of field. This actually means what is in focus infront and behind a subject. But there is another depth of field which is entirely different. That is when taking a distance photo with having something in the forground to show how far away the subject is
as per photo above. The little bush at the bottom of the photo throws Scotney Castle right into the background.
Just one trick that can be uses time and time again.
Also, if you notice another is directing the view towards the building by having trees and grass bank on edither side ,
Anyone interested in good S/H equipment, seek out your nearest pawnbrokers and look in there for non redeemed bargains.
Any advice on both buying and having 35m films developed?
Can you still get these films sorted?
As your in France your best option would be to go to a photographic shop and ask them
I would not do that as first of all it might not work and second no guarantee .
