The problem is Mortica, your post is not factual, just your opinions. How do you or any of us know why Trump preferred to own Greenland? The USA is now very vulnerable to hypersonic nuclear weapons, which they cannot stop and have failed to develop their own. When the USA fall, we all fall.

As Greenland is in NATO he can do that already. It doesn’t need to be a US state. It’s clearly not the reason Trump wants to buy the country
Perhaps covering the USA, Canada, and Greenland is such a huge and complicated task that he cannot, for reasons unknown to us. Xi Jinping would sort it, but alas, the UK just wants to talk about it like the HS2 and never finish it…
For reasons unknown to us? All NATO countries have been working together for decades with the US (head of NATO) to exchange intelligence and install armed defences across international boundaries. The trouble is that Trump wants to do his own thing and go rogue against his own defence alliance and that is indeed for reasons unknown to us!
The seeds of NATO came from British and US cooperation and it developed because of the outcome of WWII and the fact that Roosevelt let the Soviets march across half of Europe because that was convenient, but then the US wasn’t happy when Stalin didn’t want them to leave and the US suddenly realised their access to lucrative markets could end up cut off completely if nation states fell to communism. It was all about the self interest of the US. Now Trump has decided it’s better for the US to alienate Europe and take what he wants by force.

Alas, then Annie Trump has left it too late, Russia and China have beaten him to it and are infiltrating most countries in the world and are plundering their assets. I must then assume that Trump is not in the least worried about the people of America, who can be hit by missiles which can not be destroyed or shot down… Each missile could reach the States in 30mins and one alone kill 90,000 people… Best of luck with their aircraft carriers as China can sink 10 in one hour with ease. Yes I miss the war years, bombs dropping and doddle bugs flying over and cutting out. Still distant memories and I am getting too old to be posting on serious subjects.

A year has passed since…
We have known about China buying up rare earth minerals for decades now. I’m not too sure what Russia are doing to plunder these days. We have known about a risk of missiles for decades too.
Everyone acknowledges that the era of this type of warfare is over. It’s now economic and resource warfare and cyber warfare. That can do far more damage. But that’s only because we have made ourselves so reliant on these vulnerable systems. More fool us I guess. In future they will be able to kill hospital patients when AI is rolled out en masse, simply by hacking into the system.
All this is distraction - Trump does not care about Greenland nor about hypersonic missiles. This is noise to point discourse away from the Epstein files. It may be also to distract from ICE killing people but equally the ICE actions might simply to create public demonstrations that justify (in his mind) Trump actioning the insurrection act.
There are only a small number of key drivers for Trump. Keep himself and the GOP in power, even if it means ditching democracy; enriching Trump family and his oligarch friends; impoverishing ordinary Americans so they are a cheap compliant workforce; keep Putin happy; keep his role in abuse & sex trafficking hidden. Everything else is either his ineptitude (such as tariffs) or distraction.
Let us all hope that your post does not come back to bite you. A Russian hypersonic missile carrying 17 nuclear missiles, travelling in from space at an untractable projectory at 33,000km/h, will worry me a lot more than where Trump’s togger has been in his younger days.

Please, ignore this distraction. Certainly these weapons exist, certainly they can pose a threat. That is not in question. The issue is that suddenly some are portraying them as an immediate and massive threat … but not so much a year or two ago. What has changed? Not the weaposn nor the threat. What has changed is Trump’s crazy idea to take over Greenland (and a need to find any justification) and Trump’s need for crazy distractions. Hence Davey (I love Trmup) J post. Distraction from the actual immediate and massive threat.

What has happened is Putin has threatened to use the weapons against the USA and the USA has woken up to how vulnerable they are. See it as another Pearl Harbour. And I can’t stand Trump.
