What happens if there’s a tie?
If it’s an even split, the decision for the next president and vice president is taken out of the public’s hands. A contingent election.
Sure is complicated.

There are, most likely, two outcomes. Both the result of a very close ballot.
Republicans narrowly win the vote. Harris admits defeat and congratulates Trump.
Democrats narrowly win the vote. Trump and GOP go into overdrive about stolen election, fraud, need to overrule the result, need for the state authorities to redress GOP losing votes.
Were traitor Trump (TT) to loose this election you can guarantee he will be “hollering” fraud, he (Trump) and his following are the biggest threat to Democracy in the USA in our history. Trump will do like he did on Jan.6, make a big speech to his Christofascist, following and disappear into his safe confines awaiting the results.
^^ so seems pre emptive cries of stolen , fraud etc in anticipation.
Trump, the poster child for bad losers.

The yank electoral system has be to be said to be a bit strange when, during a four years term, it does appear that 25% of it is spent campaigning for the next term.
This thread was started in February and here we are on election eve in November.
I say strange but that is to eyes who think a five week election campaign is long enough to endure.
I would not be surprised if Trump, his advisors and his supporters will attempt something bigger and worse than last time around. They failed in 2020 because their legal advice was poor. The so called constitutional expert, John Eastman, made up sorts of bogus precedents and theories around the transfer of power process. That failed in the way it was always going to. But that means Trump and his supporters across key states will be planning something less likely to fail, probably something that can be brought in front of the supreme court while at the same time creating violent unrest in state capitols. That’s my guess.
With just 24 hours before the American Presidential Election, all you Americans go and give your support to Donald Trump because you know he will look after you and bring you prosperity…
That is the funniest thing I’ve heard all year. Thanks for that little bright star of humour. Who says satire is dead?
If Trump is defeated this is the future of America.
The Crazy History Behind Bonfire Night In England | Legendary Locations
Sorry, I don’t understand. The video seems to be an explanation of why in the UK (I know the video says “England” but its presented by an American so a common error) burns effigies of Guy Fawkes. Which we do because of the powerful (anti-Catholic) propaganda by the Stewart monarchy after the gunpowder plotters were executed.
How does this relate to Trump losing, if he does, the election? Will Trump be executed, you think? Or will Trump, on losing, try to blow up the Capitol building? Or will Americans dress up in stripy jerseys? What exactly does this video tell us?
I’m confused.
There is nothing Trump could try that would succeed, at the very worst (and this would be very bad), he would plunge us into civil conflict, which much of his following would love, this would / would be the downfall of the US we now know. Trump has hinted (if elected) about the use of the US military against what he deems US “enemies from within” which would be no more than an excuse to declare marital law, which he would need to do to counter the upheaval this act would bring, not including mass desertions from the military and National Guard. Remember we have been a country which has been embroiled in military conflict of some type about every decade or less, there are many veterans. Hopefully (and in all probability) this election will come off without any problems, and our government is preparing to try and make this election as normal as possible. Normal working class Americans fall into the class of “the silent majority” ( term was popularized by U.S. President Richard Nixon in a televised address on November 3, 1969) which acknowledges the most citizens remain silent til time to step forward.
I would hope to agree. But Trump and his advisors are without morals or decency or care about collateral damage. Bannon has previously voiced an opinion that creating chaos would create the environment for invoking extreme actions. Trump’s Republicans in key states are so certain in rightness of their mission that they’d willingly start the uncertainty and doubt. Trump’s fanatical supporters, full of (false) conviction that the election was again stolen, are the perfect stooges for creating that chaos. I truly fear the worst.
You are correct, but we are not a people who stand idly by when provoked, and the big question is if Trump is willing to risk everything.Consider this, he has absolutely no accomplishments while in office, just talk, even in his own business, he is a con man, he gets others to do his bidding, then he hides behind his lawyers.
not into Fascism, I’ve already voted the first day. Trump is a liar and a fraud.
Maybe
I dont know Bruce - but it doesnt matter - it plays as normal if anyone if anyone presses the play arrow.
