I was about to say something similar, its the world price for oil that has gone up because 20% of supply has been strangled. No one is going to sell oil for less and there is competition for the supplies there are.
Australian fuel supplies (in the main) come from SE Asia but there is a lot of others competing for it. Australia used to have 6 refineries now it has two, as they aged they were shut down. That might need a rethink.
The current opposition, when they were in government, thought it was a good idea to keep Australia’s strategic fuel reserve in the USA which turns out wasn’t such a good idea after all.
The PM Albo commandeered the airwaves last night and addressed the nation, basically saying, “Keep calm, she’ll be right - use the train”. In the meantime the NSW state government has shut the South Coast train line over Easter for maintenance, replacing trains with buses.

Trump addressed the US nation yesterday. Here is his address:
I, President Donald Taco Trump, can confirm that we will begin withdrawing our presence in middle east within the next two to three weeks. We have achieved all our objectives. As I made clear when we began this military action, I was so very clear, clearer than any president has made clear before, we have no stated objectives. Nothing. At that is exactly what we have achieved. This is one the greatest victories that America has ever won, perhaps the biggliest. Under my direction we have done what we set out to do, in record time. So quick it made their head’s spin.
Everything that needed to be obliterated has been obliterated. So we are leaving. We are not going to negotiate with the regime that remains in place because they are lying. I am the greatest negotiator ever and I cannot do a deal with people who lie. That is my job.
I am instructing my lawyers to set out how the US will leave NATO and the UN. And the EU. And Asia. We asked all these folk for help. We got nothing. Nada. Well, they can pick up the nothing that I achieved in Iran and fix it. Two nothings must make a something.
