The first thing that immediately comes to mind is the division/ hate /intolerance religion offers to the world, but then one realizes it’s not the man invented ideological concept of religion that is the problem, it’s man and his greed, and this will continue until man ultimately destroys himself. Pretty ironic though, the most intelligent life form known to have existed on this planet is really the dumbest lifeform ever known to have existed on this planet, so, the more intelligent you are (or think you are), it appears the dumber you really are.

I am unconvinced that the US and Israel’s actions in bombing the crap out of the place will make Iran any more friendly toward the west.
As I say I think Iran’s attitude has frustrated Trump and the might is right brigade, Iran seems to hold all the best cards unlike poor Mr Zelensky, I just don’t think Trump realises it yet.

Most likely the biggest long term deal changer for Iran is the Crack that is forming thru Africa, creating a new ocean. You see the split up is just starting. They got a chance, everything is moving away.

US President Donald Trump has announced he will indefinitely extend the ceasefire with Iran, hours before it had been set to expire.
It is not immediately clear whether Iran will agree to the extended ceasefire, with no immediate comment from Iran’s most senior leaders.
Tasnim News Agency, which is affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, said Tehran had not asked for a ceasefire extension.

It is worse than that, and thus worse for all of us. Trump is in a pickle and does need a way out - but Trump, being Trump, also needs a win from all of this. To not have a win would mean that this whole debacle and tragedy was an error - and Trump does not do errors (in fact pretty much everything he has done has been an error but not in his mind). But how exactly can he extract any sort of win from this?
that seems to be the jist of it. I don’t know who advised him to blockade the strait himself. They would have more success if they plonked him in the water there. No ship would be able to get past his huge ego.

Trump cannot save face in Iran, he (and his blooming idiots) had no idea of what he was getting into. Trump is fighting for profit, Iranians are fighting for their ideology, Vietnam/ Iraq/ Afghanistan…ask the Russians about the Afghans, and now the Ukrainians.

Well, I’d be more specific - he might accept personal gain as an ok outcome. But I agree, Trump is going to have to bend reality a fair bit to claim a win from all of this. I wonder how many US bases in the gulf will have to stay functioning for Trump to claim a win? One?

This article highlights the problem with Trump being involved in these negotiations, even from the sidelines. It also puts to bed the myth that Trump is the king negotiator. Anyone who talks too much in a negotiation is on the losing side. They are too busy projecting to be listening, enquiring, guaging and assessing options.
