Certainly looks that way , once the disparaging, snidey remarks start peppering the posts it’s time to put the coffee on, go out and sniff the roses … and avoid getting trampled.
Nothing like a English Country Garden and the smell of Roses Mort, but make the most of it , those days are vanishing at a rapid rate and the main sweet scent in my sweet local village these days is curry.
Still give it three years, Iran has hypersonic missiles which will stop Trump sending out his carriers again, making this his last window to stop Iran and friends from reducing Europe to dust, and some folk complain about him killing a few hundred people, while the religious freaks kill thousands of their own for the fun of it. Also would you believe that some mugs believe Dads Army [Nato] will save us, with the likes of Spain and alas the UK.
If you never saw the news, would it still be happening?
If a tree falls in a forest at the other side of the world, does it make a noise?
The only way many of us know there are wars going on is because the price of energy and diesel goes up…
But that’s a given anyway…
Incidentally, with my diesel tank only having about 120 miles of diesel left in it, I decided to go and fill up…Three garages had run out of diesel before I found one…Tesco (preferred because I get the points) Sainsbury’s (where posh people shop) and Morrisons (a long way away from here so too far to go on a regular basis)…
So how come diesel is 15 pence a litre more expensive than petrol, it doesn’t need as much refining…

I was watching our warship HMS Dragon, sail gracefully out of Portsmouth on the news the other night and I thought my God, Starmer really is getting nasty with those Iranians…
And then I thought…But hold on a minute…We have 9 nuclear subs…An expensive ship can be sunk in minutes by a drone or missile but a sub can’t, you don’t even know it’s there, and can deliver quite a punch unobserved…
I bet we’ve got at least a couple of those poised for action, and they’re not going to advertise the fact on the media are they…

OGF. Was it priced up as diesel vehicles did many more mpg and the Chancellor was losing money. Never personally understood why they promoted it as I was raised to believe it is far more toxic than petrol?
I bought my first diesel when I became a self employed courier, and couldn’t understand why I hadn’t drove diesels before. I’ve had one ever since.
Back in my courier days I used to service it myself, piece of cake, change the oil regularly and the filters and Bob’s yer uncle…
My last van had 300,000 miles on the clock when I sold it.
What a joke that is, we have 4 or is it 6 of those ships. As explained to me as we sailed past they can detect a golf ball at 70 miles and could shoot it down. Also they have advanced radar reaching 250 plus miles. Downside is we have only one working, same as the sub fleet. This country is a bloody joke, considering we once had the largest fleet in the world.
Nothing better than a frugal Yorkshire man. Just taxed my car, with what the tax was I could have purchased two decent cars when I met my wife. Just sold my real pride and joy, 26k in 25 years, and I am broken-hearted.
Yeah, same here Davey, it cost me about £200 to tax my motor.
There is little evidence of your claims about Iran and its goals. There is even less evidence that Trump’s attacks on Iran will change anything. Yes, it is right to complain about US/Israel strikes killing civilians in Iran - because the Iran regime will not be impacted. It might even harden its plans and actions. Trump’s attack is the wrong approach, without any real plan, and without any prospect of making a difference. Apart from the risk of global recession, the loss of faith that gulf allies will have in the US, the needless loss of lives.
Speaking of religious freaks, have you seen what Hesgeth is going around saying?
That is what I paid for the Consul Convertible with the bench front seat, a passion waggon at the time.
There you go then, even a reputed little evidence when it come to being wiped off the face of the earth is worthy of action. Not had time to notice the news, been very busy moving furniture etc as they are coming to do the phone change over, great as I have zero fibre for a very long way. Did the pond yesterday and hurting like hell now, being disabled, but I never give in.
I get it guys … Iran is going to flatten me in my own back garden whilst I’m sniffing the roses … but I’ll know nothing about it ??
Oh so you have graced us with your presence. Nothing better than the smell of burning bacon. Short post as I have taken my diuretic
Not for the first time your posts leave me speechless.
Such contempt of your fellow man (or woman) unless of course, they happen to be called Trump or Netanyahu who have radiant sunshine emitting from their exhaust ends.
As said … I really must go and sniff the roses.
Err, no it is not. Did you miss the entire disaster that was the second gulf war - launched on very little evidence. Hundreds of thousands, maybe millions, died as a result of that. It created ISIS - to be specific, the US war against Saddam ended up creating murderous religious nutters. Which bit of “made it all worse” are you unable to understand? Which aspect of “launching a war with little chance of making a difference” and “launching a war with no plan of what next” are you claiming to be a good idea? Jeez, I despair.
Goodness that was acerbic.
Don’t be gone long as you’ve yet to read my last post and you’ll want to reply … or may I humbly suggest, tote a bucket about with you.
I’m kidding ! I’m kidding !

I am not interested in other wars any more than the downfall of al-Shabaab. I am interested in the current threat to Europe and the possible reinstatement of a free Iran after that.
This reminds me of another conflict where “weapons of mass destruction” were being scaremongered
