The Oprah Interview: Prince Harry and Meghan

All of the above plus the fact that they get away with their misdemeanors. Despite all the toe sucking, alleged underaged sex parties, extra marital affairs; tampon tapes, drug taking, naked parties in Vegas, drunkedness, rudeness and disgusting costly extravagance, they still expect us to look up to them as a special family.

They are disfunctional, just like many other families in Britain but they get paid a shit load of money for it.

The Queen should be the last Royal.

Keezoy,

I think it’s their arrogant sense of entitlement that gets up people’s nose.

The Queen has been the thread that has held this country together through both thick and thin, but to be fair she has reared the most dysfunctional family ever.

I will never forget Charles greeting his mother at the start of his school holidays with a handshake.

Diana was seen as a breath of fresh air when she first joined the royal family, but because she outshone Charles in every way, the egotistical bastard couldn’t stand the competition and surrounded himself with all his ‘friends’, all over inflated sycophants who took every opportunity to denigrate both the woman and her works.

He might have come over as a ‘good bloke’ to you Aussies but believe me when I say his appalling behaviour to his wife, two timing her even while she was in her birthbed with Harry with the strumpet he’s since married; he, quite rightly, got the reputation of being spineless, having his bride approved by the establishment and providing an heir to the throne, before casting her aside for the piece of dogmeat of his choice.

Even at Diana’s death he was reported as shouting ‘Just what have we done to deserve this’? , when confronted with the outpouring of grief from the country to his detriment.

Now let’s turn to Andrew
 Andrew and the Epstein interview
need I say more.

Princess Anne: The most pragmatic of the royal children followed by Edward.

If it weren’t for the royal titles Charles and Andrew would have no friends whatsoever - the two biggest ‘Billy-No-Mates’ in Christendom’.

Charles simply isn’t man enough for kingship - he hasn’t the depth of character, Andrew like Charles, simply can’t keep his dick in his trousers and that leaves he wot is married to wot’s 'er name.

So you could say the vitriol comes from an absolute and utter contempt for the royal family.

Does that enlighten you?

I do agree with PooBear’s post above and I do understand why Harry needed to escape.
Just imagine having to constantly mix with and be polite to the woman your father cheated with causing your beloved mother such sadness and distress.
William is obviously a much harder case.

I found it predictable and rather boring. My attention kept wandering to that beautiful garden and Oprah’s fright wig and weird spectacles.

Excellent post poobear.

Poobear . Well said

I did hear something interesting on TV

It was said " Andrew was not stripped of any of his medals and bestowed honours and was sacked and no one sees him now . That the queen should make him talk to the FBI about his friendships etc
Instead hes sitting pretty in opulence and luxury behind net curtains

Another reason the family are not liked it’s one law only for them

Back to the topic

I was just waiting for the credits at the end of the programme, to say where you could buy the clothes worn, the furniture used, the cost of the rental on the house where it was filmed, and possibly cans of air that they were all inhaling! :-):-)

Part of the problem is the number of family members who are on the payroll.

Beyond the direct line of succession, nobody really matters. If the rule book was rewritten accordingly, then I’d imagine things would be less problematic.

Looking at the still picture of the 3 of them, I’m still trying to understand the fuss over Oprah’s lipstick. For goodness sake!

I’d go along with that. Direct line of descent only.

Following on from that funny video clip, can we now have the RF as voiced by Hugh Dennis?

I’m with him ===^

I’m with him too.

She never had a chance from the start. After reading 26 pages of this thread with focus only on Meghan, doesn’t it occur to anyone Harry may love this woman and she may love him? He was at the interview, listening to Meg and adding his thoughts and Interactions with his family. Is he lying, too? Do you like his haircut? Are you bored to death with his whining about the toxic environment he had to live through?
If I were in Meghan’s place, you can bet I would think before every sentence was spoken, on edge because I knew the world was judging, yet hoping to explain some of the reasoning for leaving Harry’s life of royalty.
It has left a roily, rotten taste on my tongue for anything royal in England.

Whose everybody,keezoy?, Ahem
regarding “ Venom”
I think you may mean, by some,
please don’t include me as one.

First point: yes, I have no problem with that.

Second point: yes, I’m sick to the back teeth of hearing that. What have they got to complain about? They have left the UK - their choice, and no-one’s stopping them. If Harry wants to complain about the ‘toxic environment’ he has had to live in, perhaps he should explain exactly what that ‘toxic environment’ was, because it’s news to me. In any event, now he lives a few thousand miles away in another country, surely he should be happy now?

To clarify, I have no strong feelings about Harry and MeAgain. They’ve chosen their new life and, providing they don’t bother me, I shall not bother them. In fact, I’d be very happy just to forget all about them.

And I suspect that the Queen might feel the same way!

Well thanks to you all. I asked for it and I got it. Very interesting read and yes Poo Bear it is enlightening. A fair vote to the negative there. Pauline you can read “everybody” as a euphemism for " a sentiment that is very common"
or the general zeitgeist of the forum. The people that have responded here are a small sample. Not everybody (There I go again) reads every post. Maybe there are lots of other people here that like or approve of the royals that haven’t seen the thread or haven’t bothered comment. Who knows. I am not the one who “includes” you or not in anything. YOu are the master of you. You have your own opinion. You are entitled to it.

Now my final comment. I actually agree that the royal family is a relic from the past that is starting to look pretty tired and irrelevant even in Britain. As a former colony - or group 6 - we were taught to love The Queen from the time we were tiny children. Mostly she was just a portrait over the headmaster’s desk or an image on a coin or banknote. We knew she was real but she was far enough away to be more of a legend. When she did appear in the flesh it was kind of like the arrival of a goddess. And we loved her even more. Because she always seemed happy to be here and told us things about ourselves we wanted to hear. She opened things and gave speeches and accepted flowers from school kids while the Dook wandered behind her with his hands behind his back. I don’t think we ever liked all the rest of the hangers on and arrogant bludgers that call themselves royal. They strutted around like the useless wastes of space they are and often treated us like shit. We tolerated them for her sake. It is The Queen herself - the person - that Australians have affection for. NOt the institution of the monarchy or any other part of it. The Westminster system of goverment s our system. “The Crown” is the authority. It is an intangible final authority. Not The Queen. It is a term
Like in the US it is “The People”
Same thing really. In the end I guess I do agree woth most of you. The Royal family has reached it’s use by date. Apart from the Queen herself, they are meaningless to us. They are very flawqed people. But we don’t detest them. Happy trails all!..and yes Pauline that includes you.

Did anyone notice that Harry never referred to Meghan by her name when he was talking to Oprah.
He just referred to Meghan as, ‘her’ or ‘she’.

I have a theory.
He’s heard the name ‘Me Again’ so many time that he’s worried about inadvertently saying it!
And that would not go down very well.

:lol: you’re very funny at times, JBR.

Not universally appreciated, I’m afraid, but I try.
