I don’t think there is any certain way of protecting people but if you do get covid & you recover faster if you are vaccinated, it wont clog up so many hospital beds. It is not just covid patients, but many other people with health problems like cancer & heart disease can die
It is all about numbers and the less people who become seriously ill are more likely to survive & less likely to pass it to more people.
The only people who may have natural immunity are those who have had the virus & recovered.
Don’t forget that this may not be a natural virus & the Chinese may be releasing it in different forms…hence the many variants!
As a diabetic there is no way I would have refused jab, because it may save my life. I just wish the press wouldn’t use the odd person, who had a reaction to it, to scare everybody. I know hundreds of people who were vaccinated and none of them have had bad effects, that can definitely been confirmed to be caused by the vaccine, so how can we know the vaccine caused it?
Nobody really knows! but if we keep listening to all these different ideas & do nothing, deaths will certainly be more!
We need to have a plan of action & stick to it, until somebody can prove it is wrong
Certainly but from what I have read, because the hospitals are so overwhelmed with patients generally (not necessarily Covid), it seems that people with cancer and heart disease are not being seen as quickly as they ought to be.
Yes, that is a worry and it has been suggested before. Naturally, our politicians aren’t talking about it because they don’t want to upset ‘our friends’ in China, but it is a distinct possibility - not ‘germ warfare’, but ‘viral warfare’. Why not?
I agree. I know no-one who has had any bad effects, although Marge had a sore arm for a day or two after her booster. Strangely, despite my being diabetic, I had no side effects at all. Just lucky I suppose.
We do know … death rates have stayed low and so have hospitalisations.
We have 80,000 infections of Omicron, 1 death of it and 15 people in hospital. Compare that to the 740,000 missed cancer appointments, a destroyed economy, a hugely divided society, the abolishment of informed consent, forced vaccinations for health workers, thousands of businesses gone to the wall, millions of kids with serious mental health problems, the highest rates of suicide, untreated diabetes, cancer and heart disease, the highest rates of domestic abuse and child abuse, isolation of millions of people, vaccination passports resulting in a 2 tier society, grieving families who couldn’t be with dying loved ones, kids who have not had a proper education for 2 years etc etc.
For what ?
People aren’t dying of covid, or going to hospital with it… we need to just learn to live with it and go back to normal.
If people want lock downs, wearing face masks and getting jabbed 10 times a day they can do it at their own expense, they can hide away to their hearts content, you don’t need Whitty and his cretins to tell you to do it. For the rest of us, we can just go back to normal.
Well said, Bread. (That rhymes. I’d a poet and I didn’t know it.)
Yes that really puts it into perspective.
Admittedly, earlier on things were different and Covid was much more of a killer. However, it now seems to be much less serious and, as you point out, patients are suffering not because of Covid but because of the NHS and politicians concentrating on the wrong sorts of things.
In my view, the NHS should now rapidly go back to its earlier priorities, especially cancer and heart treatments.
Politicians should stop trying to protect us where it is probably no longer necessary and permit us to behave in the same was as they themselves do - parties under lockdown, etc!
Yeah exactly JBR.
We will eventually get to see the real figures of how many people did die of COVID and when we do, my guess is the figures won’t be anywhere near the “with covid” figures we have now - I would guess around 33% of them which would make them comparable to every other flue epidemic we have had.
I nominate these for an award, but I’m not quite sure what for.
Grow up ffs
And read your own articles properly
Here is how hospitalizations will be rigged for Omicron.
If you tested positive for Covid within 28 days and go to hospital your a covid statistic.
Rigged or what ?
Ffs use the brain you claim to have and stop telling lies.
Can’t you see how untenable your argument is. Just because you act like a shop steward wearing knuckle dusters and shout down the opposition, and uncouthly and coarsely I might add, doesn’t detract from the fact that you come out with some ridiculous notions. You’re a public menace spreading your misinformation and lies.
Next you’ll be claiming that the whole pandemic is a hoax.
Morty, why not offer some contradictory evidence instead of just name-calling?
I say thing in, hopefully, a friendly way.
With all respect you’ve only just come into this thread, or the two that went before it and were put on slow mode, and are unaware how many members, myself included, have presented evidence and facts which Bread just calls rubbish , that’s when he’s not calling other members the C word simply because they disagree with him.
He speaks a load of tosh. He makes some good points about how the government have handled or should I say mishandled how to tackle the pandemic but some of the claims he utters are plain daft.
But … as you are a TL2, and come to that so is he, I can’t afford to really be the odd one out here so I’ll defer to you both.
Good then I won’t need to educate you anymore.
Head in the sand award ?
I have already suggested the cross stitch club I have heard it’s very soothing .
How about you get some facts instead.
70,000 health workers are living their jobs in March don’t you think you should at least try and back up your support with facts ?
I’m still waiting
So why not demonstrate how he ought to behave by setting a good example. I’d like to think that that works as well as anything.
Now don’t start to accuse me of ‘superiority’ as a TL2! As far as I’m concerned, we’re all equal here regardless of this silly TL nonsense. I regard members according to what they post and how they behave and, if I may say so, I have always regarded you as someone I can admire.
I think I’ll keep out of this until you both calm down. I like people to be friends, and that includes me!
Meanwhile in other news … Gibraltar, the most vaccinated place on earth, cancels Christmas
No need JBR … you join in the debate and get stuck in. That’s what debates are for.
