A view from someone affected by all this.

Covid is having an effect.

It is not just Flu.

I have had Flu and I have had Covid.

There is a huge difference.

Flu was horrible, but did not require hospital admission.

Covid does.

Never been on a specialist Flu Ward, have been on a Specialist Covid Ward.

I have been in ITU, the only time I have seen 3 out of 4 in a Bay die and I was the only one left was in a Covid Ward.

I have a history of Heart Attacks and Serious Injuries.

Previously survivable because of the prompt arrival of an Ambulance.

Monday was different, what was a normal wait time was extended into 2 hours.

My symptoms went from bad to Critical, the wait meant that my readings triggered the Sepsis Protocols.

I could go on, but what is the point of the bleeding obvious to those who will not listen.

I will try again.

Covid is very dangerous, it affects those who do not have it, it means longer waits for treatment for run of the Mill stuff, which then changes into Life Changing Conditions.

It means you going into a Ward with only one Specialist Medic, instead of it being fully staffed.

If that is what you want, fine.

Just do not involve me.

Some vaccines last a life time some don’t and natural immunity doesn’t either in some viruses. Covid is one of these so I would get yours pdq Foxy you have had one lucky escape don’t temp providence .

I know the same as you about vaccines and immune systems Muddy, and that is practically zilch, but sometimes a belief in yourself and your bodies abilities to fight illness is all the vaccine you need. Just ask Twink.

It’s doesn’t matter how much belief you have covid can overcome it .
That’s is why there are any amount of unvaccinated people who believed in their bodies who are now dead .
As I listen to what trained professionals medics and scientists say I have in fact learned quite a lot about viruses . They are not all the same and natural immunity varies too . That is why fit healthy young footballers have caught it twice . Natural immunity wanes and is not as strong against some viruses .
The flu and the common cold being obvious ones .
Whereas catching measles as a child usually confers immunity for life as it produces a very strong immune response . ( This does not stop you getting shingles in later life however )
There is of course the risk with measles of horrible life changing consequences .

I personally know of two people ( who don’t believe in vaccination or masks ) who have caught covid twice . They were youngish ( early forties ) and not invalids and believed once they had had it they were immune but they weren’t .
I also know three people who have died and they were not couch potatoes but older people who were like yourself still fit and healthy .
As an older male with underlying health problems you are extremely vulnerable .
And despite all you care and belief in your body you still caught it and can catch it again .

Even the WHO say this came from a lab in Wuhan, performing gain of function research on coronavirus samples taken from horse-shoe bats. There are also eye-witness accounts from the lab, international investigations and other state sponsored independent investigations all concluding this could not have come from an animal and mutated - its simply impossible.

This is the same lab that brought us the miser of SARS and MERS. It has a track record and a history in doing this.

Bread if you catch any illness your body produces anti bodies to fight it. Vaccines are designed to speed up the production of these antibodies to help prevent it becoming too serious. If you have already had the illness & survived then you are likely to still have the antibodies ,in case you catch it again.
This doesn’t mean you are immune to the illness, it just means that your body has a better chance of winning the battle if you catch it again… just as having the jab does!
All vaccines try to do this, whether they are live or not!
Your antibodies only exist against the illness if you have had the illness or a live vaccine, but the covid vaccinations have been developed to be so similar to the Covid virus that your immune system will be able to make antibodies that will prevent them doing too much harm.

I think the reason they want all health workers to have the jab is because they work with very sick people & if they catch the illness , even if they have no symptoms, the patients they treat are more likely to die if they pass it on to them.
Surely people who train & work hard to save lives would rather risk the very small chance of any reaction to the jab & save lives of patients ! Unless they think the government are trying to kill them, which is unlikely when we already have a shortage of health workers
If we don’t prove we are able to control this virus & stop trading with China, our only other alternative is to drop a nuclear bomb on them…which will probably kill even more people!

Yes Twink, but the vaccines have a huge range of effectiveness - not everyone responds to them in the same way. Vaccinated people still end up in hospital.

Natural immunity has longer effects than the vaccines but if someone has chosen natural immunity over vaccination (for whatever reason) they are classed as “unvaccinated” as are people with only 2 jabs instead of a 2 jabs + booster.

Being “unvaccinated” is very misleading and being vaccinated has its draw backs such as side effects and trashing your immune system when you are given it.

You can pass on COVID and catch it even if you are vaccinated - including health workers. Why do people think if you are vaccinated your are protecting other people ? You aren’t you only protect yourself, so firing unvaccinated people is completely pointless as are vaccination passports which have proved in every country that’s adopted them not to work.

Exactly, we should only provide health care to people with health insurance like every other country does, although a lot of health tourism was as a result of our EU membership, of which we left thank god.

I agree, and that is certainly the case with the latest (Omicron) variant.
At the risk of being shot down, I’d hazard a guess that we are all developing a natural immunity to Covid, bit by bit, and aided by widespread vaccinations.

I’m not sure of that, Twink. As I understand it, the vaccinations can offer protection to the vaccinated, but it is still possible for them to carry the virus (without suffering adverse effects) and there is still a chance that they can pass on the virus to others.
Perhaps that is acceptable if they conduct all the necessary precautions (masks, etc.), though I’m not absolutely sure about that.

There is this obsession over COVID now and this illusion that the planet is taking its last breath as everyone lay dying, clutching their chests and bleeding out of their eyes from catching the deadly disease. The UK is plague island and the NHS is overwhelmed with no beds and people spilling out into the corridors and the streets to die alone without any medication or ventilators because they are all being used in this apocolypse of covid.

It’s not true… 15 people are in hospital with Omicron and 1 person died with it.
