The back and forth might serve to reaffirm the widely held assessment that Trump is the only world leader who has sway over Netanyahu.
But itās also telling that off the cuff comments from the US president may have had more of an influence on the Israeli prime ministerās response than the severity of the incident itself.
Once again, a hospital treating civilians has been struck by Israeli forces.
And once again Palestinian journalists, bearing a heavy burden as the only media operating in the strip, have paid the ultimate price for their vital work.
The difference this time is it was caught on camera.
But if recent conduct is anything to go by, itās unlikely to prompt a different response in Israelās behaviour without sufficient pressure from someone like Donald Trump.
