The Humanitarian Crisis In Gaza đŸ‡”đŸ‡ž

Recent escalations make it even more important to support good-faith efforts to find lasting peace between Israel and a fully independent, viable and sovereign Palestinian state," AntĂłnio Guterres, the UN secretary general, told the council.

“Failure to make progress towards a two-state solution will only increase volatility and risk for hundreds of millions of people across the region, who will continue to live under the constant threat of violence,” he said.

Guterres also said that Israel’s commitment to improving aid access to the Gaza Strip has had limited or no impact .

“Apparent progress in one area is often cancelled out by delays and restrictions elsewhere,” the secretary general said.

“For example, although the Israeli authorities have cleared more aid convoys, those clearances are often granted when it is too late in the day to make deliveries and return safely ,” he explained. "So the impact is limited, and sometimes nil .

More than any other countries, the U.S. and U.K. have wrecked the Middle East through their non-stop meddling and imperial arrogance. This week they had the chance to make some amends.

A total of 139 countries already recognize the State of Palestine, more than two-thirds of the U.N. member states. Several European states will soon join the list. Yet the U.S. has so far blocked Palestine’s membership in the U.N., with the U.K. always sticking close to the U.S. lead. Both have relentlessly backed Israel’s apartheid rule over Palestine and are currently actively backing [Israel] in its horrific destruction of [Gaza]

Earlier, the Axios news site said the US would target Israel’s Netzah Yehuda battalion over alleged human rights violations in the occupied West Bank.

All the alleged violations took place before the 7 October Hamas attack on Israel from the Gaza Strip.

How interesting is that!

“In the hospital courtyard, civil defence members and paramedics have retrieved 180 bodies buried in this mass grave by the Israeli military. The bodies include elderly women, children and young men,” Al Jazeera’s Hani Mahmoud reporting from Khan Younis said on Sunday.

Earlier this week, a mass grave was discovered at al-Shifa Hospital following a two-week siege. It was one of several mass graves found at al-Shifa – the largest medical facility in the coastal enclave.

Israel’s war on Gaza has killed more than 34,000 Palestinians, according to local health officials, devastated Gaza’s two largest cities and left a swath of destruction across the territory.

Because it expresses a collective national identity, Palestinian culture has always posed a threat to Israel’s colonial project, which depends upon the idea that no such thing exists, that the land was previously empty, that no one was really there

US official: Rafah strikes do not ‘represent a major military operation’
A US official said the US is “concerned” about Israel’s latest strikes on Rafah, but “does not believe they represent a major military operation,” according to a report from Reuters.

US officials are focused on prevent major military operations targeting “densely populated” areas of Rafah, the source added, and that it “does not appear the Israelis are doing that”.

More sophistry from the USA

Excuse the strong language, but perfectly demonstrates what’s been happening:

"It means a family, probably displaced anywhere inside entire Gaza, will not have access to the food they need. They will not have access to clean water.

"So it doesn’t only affect the people in Rafah, in the south, but the entire strip is currently kind of choked off from aid.

“It’s a life-threatening situation that has become very, very acute.”

Sorry Jens,no one is listening! They are only Palestinians.

Refugees International found that logistical issues within Egypt and Jordan are limiting the distribution of life-saving assistance to people in Gaza. The Rafah crossing between Gaza and Egypt, mainly intended for commercial deliveries, lacks the capacity to process the substantial amount of aid the Strip requires.Mar 7, 2024
