@Mups same here they kept bumping into things and Moss wouldn’t move at all so we took it off him and kept an eye on him, which is more challenging for us.
Bracken had wet ecsma behind his ear on his neck it was hot weather it was making the skin sweat so we took the collar off and kept an eye on him, which was difficult because he would go somewhere where we couldn’t see him and try to scratch it, but we got there in the end.

@pauline3 hope that Jack is doing ok today?

Logan, did your dogs ever manage to get that head thing off?

Jack managed to get his off, when I went shopping, it was on the floor on my return…

Pauline no they didn’t get them off, the ones that we had have loops so that the collar can be thread through and then put the collar back on.

Is Jack ok?

Yes, he’s ok, his stitches still look intact,…I won’t be able to leave him on his own now…only 8 days to go ,I can’t remember how long he has to keep it on for, not to worry I can scroll up and check.

He has a post op appointment, next week I think…he’s much more alert this morning, thanks for asking,:+1::+1:

I agree Logan. They have to be fixed to the collar, and as long as the collar is adjusted correctly, they shouldn’t be able to come off.

I thought Jack had teeth out Pauline, so where are any stitches?
Did they stitch his eye lid from the warty growth?

Scroll up, it’s all there to see.thanks.

Those collars had to take them off when they had to eat and drink.

@pauline3 glad that Jack is ok.

I will be doing that later,Logan, I wish I’d thought of that before you mentioned it,:+1:…thanks for mentioning it though.

I will take it off, then just watch him, then pop it back on once finished his food…

That’s great Pauline, if there’s anything else ask, I might have the answer or not.
How are you getting on with Jack?

Thanks Logan, he’s just had his meal, with head shield off,:+1:…no problem, life will be much easier now, thanks to you,:+1:…I don’t think I ought to take it off on his walks though, do you?..He May get a nasty bush poked in his eye with the stitches,…if I am worried I will ask you, he’s still a bit whiny, other than that he’s fine, he said hello to you.:heartpulse:

Also hello from Jack, to everyone else, all these lovely members who wished him well…thank you everyone,:heartpulse:

That’s good Pauline and I’d keep it on, on his walks but he might catch it on twigs and the like so try to keep him away from them if possible.
Perhaps the stitches feel a bit sore, he looks ok and happy.

and hello Jack

Was just looking through some pictures of my lovely late Polly dog and this one made me smile, she is next to a garden planter given to me by a friend. The planter is called Woofus.

Miss her sooooo much, but am grateful for the 14 years I had with her. She was such a happy girl until she become confused through doggie dementia
