Thank you for the update, Barry.
Good news for you that Alfie will be around a while longer - not a lot of fun for him with an op and tooth extraction to look forward too. Aging is never kind - but better than the alternative. Give him a big hug!!!

Will keep my fingers crossed that the antibiotics clear it up. Sending Alfie some gentle tickles.
Thank you for the update Barry and hope that it works.
Barry, one of my German Shepherd girls had to have two mammary tumours removed ages ago, and she was fine afterwards.
If Alf has to have the op, did they say if they can take the teeth out at the same time, save him having two anaesthetics? Don’t know if they’d do that or not though?
Fingers crossed all goes well anyway.
Terrible service here.
I’d like a boiled egg and soldiers please Mum - and be quick about it if you please.
Thanks for that @Mups , I’m not sure personally whether it is a mammary gland as it seems too far away from his nipples but the vet must know better than me obviously, so I just hope he’s right. As for the teeth then yes, they will be done at the same time so only one anaesthetic required thank goodness…
As for Gertie, she may be demanding her tea but she seems to have good table manners at least…
Barry I should have said under the last picture, that’s Liffey, not Gertie.
She had health problems last autumn, and it was eventually discovered from blood tests that she has developed Cushings Syndrome and will have medication for life now. Poor Liff.
As you can see in the picture though, she is bright and alert and coping well.
She is 9 years old, 10 this April.
She looks pretty pleased with herself sitting there.
And she does not look even close to her age!
A Bedlington Terrier?
Yes Besoeker. All mine are Bedlingtons. I had 5 at one time.
Thanks LMB.
Hope you and yours are all keeping well.
I so miss having a dog.
Lovely pics everyone.
It’s been 14 years today since Bramble had passed away, still miss him getting up to his tricks.
Yes, I can certainly understand that Maver-rik, I know I won’t be able to live without a furry companion.
Is there no way you could have one now, perhaps an elderly one in need even?
I have thought about approaching rescue centres about adopting an older dog, but I could only do that if they underwrote the insurance costs, but I wouldn’t be able to do anything for a while because I would really like Mum and I to be able to move to a bungalow, and would rather be settled before a new dog came into our lives.
At least I get to cuddle sister’s Golden and go for walks with them a couple of times a week.
If it’s meant to be, then I believe one will find his way to you, Maver-rik.
Take care.
