anyone with a heart only made of stone couldn’t be saddened by what is happening in India. No doubt the government needs to shoulder some blame for what is happening but blame solves nothing when thousands upon thousands of people have died and still dying.
Mupsy I am so sorry for your Yoga teacher, please tell her she is in my prayers, she must be devastated.
Denier, no. But covid is thankfully not the end of the world as we thought a mere 12 months ago. It turned out to be a bit of a false alarm. But good press.
[QUOTE=The Artful Todger;2080769 We have absolutely no responsibility for ANY other country other than the UK and ourselves.[/QUOTE]
no I don’t agree with that !
I would never argue against a country putting themselves first (and would be suspect of anyone claiming otherwise), but sometimes a nation should put politics aside to do something - even if it means not getting out of it in return. If the situation is the result of a poorly run country, then make a loan out of it, but get it done.
Pandemics, naturally caused famines, and natural disasters float to the top as such situations.
In happier times we were discussing the overpopulation of the world and how best to address it…Greta and David Attenborough must be silently rubbing their hands together. What better way to cull the population by natural means…That’s if it is natural… One thing’s for sure, it’s a long way from being over yet…The worst is still to come…
That doesn’t mean I don’t feel sad for everyone who has lost someone, because I know I’m expendable just like my loved ones and all of us on here…The Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos, Richard Branson’s and Elon Musk’s of this world must be looking on in despair…not!
Pffft, not MY problem, I can guarantee you that. If the country that supplies 50% of the world’s vaccines and 25% of our NHS medications can’t sort out a pharmaceutical problem, then no country can.
As for sending equipment to India, according to The Guardian the UK is sending three oxygen generation units from surplus stocks in Northern Ireland that can each be used by 50 people at a time. They follow the sending of 495 oxygen concentrators and 200 ventilators, also from surplus stocks, which were expected to arrive this week.
Sounds good on paper, but shipping a couple of hundred ventilators (and possibly a few million vaccines) to a country that has a population of 1.4 BILLION people is only going to mean the wealthy will ever get to use them. It won’t change a thing.
Todger m’dear, allow me to put a question to you -
Pretend you weren’t around any more.
Maybe you had died during the covid outbreak.
Then imagine your wife, all alone, desperate for help and fighting for her life.
Someone could help her, even save her life perhaps, but refused to do so, and just watched her die instead, because he/she felt it wasn’t their problem.
I know that probably sounds horrid, but if you were observing
from the spirit world, would it have comforted you to see she was receiving help, or would you give the ones who ignored her a pat on the back for turning a blind eye?
All those people dying right now, are somebody’s wife/mother/husband or father, and I for one, think it is tragic because it is not their fault.
I suppose if you lived in India you would willing go to your death knowing it’s not anyone else’s problem .
It’s a good job the rest of the world isn’t of that mentality when it comes to knowledge and advice as this pandemic will eventually get the better of us if we don’t share.
Foxy, Your words ‘the worst is yet to come’ concerns me. How can you know, or predict that?
Are you saying, the majority of us are going to be culled? Is this something that wars used to do but now the nations leaders have a plan to thin us out?
Oooh Swimmy, Yes Please! Can l feed the fish, dig the garden and act as traffic warden when everyone blocks your drive!
I bagsy head butting your neighbour from hell!
I wasn’t that scared by what foxy said. l just wondered how he could predict such stuff without being in the know… or is it just a random assumption on his part?

Can you post the information that says ,it’s a long way from being over.
Also, can you post what you mean by “ The worst is yet to come”?
Has that been announced?..or is it an assumption on you part?
If they wanted to reduce the population they would have found a disease that kills the young not the old. They are the ones reproducing around the world. Still I suppose when the aliens finally take over they will need the young for slave labour…
Only a small proportion of the world population has been infected Pauline. 150m as at yesterday recorded infections with a world population of 7.7billion means that the disease has many hosts to still attack.
As only a fraction of the world population have been vaccinated or had prior exposure this leaves countries which have little or no access to vaccination and as yet few infections highly vulnerable in the future. This is why they are making efforts to get the vaccines to poorer countries.
The more this spreads the less likely we are to ever get shot of it or get control over it as it can mutate into a resistant form.
Why aren’t they making it compulsory to get vaccinated?
Of course there will be those who can’t, due to medical reasons, but for those who are able to are being selfish, they could be carriers, I wasn’t going to have the jab, then a voice in my head told me to get vaccinated ,just booked my second
jab .
The only information member are posting is what they have read online or from the news.
