I like that photo Jim, a real fan and that’s no kidding! well done that man.
I bet poor old Chelsea wondered what was going on when Man Utd came back at them from 0-3 down to force a draw but I cannot imagine any manager letting his team lose a lead like that, no wonder AVB is wearing that haunted look, especially with rumours flying about regarding the return of “The special one” to Stamford Bridge, no sentiment in business and that’s what being in the Premiership is all about, big business!
Last night’s game at Anfield was just a bore draw from start to finish and it says it all when one of the biggest cheers of the evening erupted when a cat ran on to the pitch and made it into the Spurs penalty area, pity the Liverpool forwards didn’t follow suit:( Even the appearance of Luiz Suarez didn’t swing things the Red’s way and it just seemed that Spurs were content to just stop the home side scoring, seemed more like an end of the season nothing at stake game, I bet Harry Redknap was glad that he couldn’t fly up for that game, what a boring match.
Did’nt see the game Bob so can’t comment. Did see the cat on the news though, wonder if he or she, will get a life ban for running on the pitch? That AVB gives me the hump, always grizzling about something or other. Mind you the Boss turning up at training, must have caused him to have a touch of the vapours! Don’t know who’s the worst owner to work for, Abramovich or Ken Bates, the sack is just a whisper away.
I wonder if he has had the dreaded “vote of confidence” yet ?
Blackpool strolled past Sheffield Wednesday in last night’s FA cup replay and must now face a trip to Goddison to face Everton in the next round and this evening, weather permitting, MIddlesborough will play Sunderland in their replay.
I see that Harry Redknapp and Milan Mandaric have both been found not guilty of tax evasion charges after quite a long and overnight deliberation by the jury.
I see that Harry Redknapp and Milan Mandaric have both been found not guilty of tax evasion charges after quite a long and overnight deliberation by the jury. Bob, this case was brought because of that long and very expensive Quest inquiry, that more or less came up empty. The sums involved were trivial compared to what both the accused were earning. Its no surprise it been given not guilty.
Of course, pure coincidence that the FA carpeted Capello over his stance regarding the JT affair resulting in the resignation of our Italian ‘supremo’ so now of course speculation will mount as to who will take over the England managers job, Harry of course is being mentioned along with Stuart Pearce and the likes of Alan Pardew (wow! English managers)
Does anybody else have any suggestions? Not Donald Duck LOL.
As soon a s the Fa announced that they could be removing the captaincy from Terry Capello’s job was up for grabs so why did they say it was a shock when he resigned yesterday?
Harry Rednap is a self confessed liar so how would you know if he was speaking the truth or not, that in my book rule him out of the managers job.
Alan Pardew is a novice with luck on his side, O’neil walks away when the going gets tough, so, as they want an Engliah representative I guess it is down to DANGER MOUSE.
Just give Moi that six million that the Italian was trousering, and I’ll make a good fist of it than almost anyone. My first priority is a large supply of wine and spirits, plenty of crumpet around,(YES! that sort!), large chauffeur driven car, five star hotels, Private Jet etc. Oh, the football side of it? I’ll be leaving that to my three assistants, ZIPPY, BUNGLE, AND GEORGE.
I honestly didn’t realise that Redknap was a self confessed liar AB but I rather think that he may do a runner on Spurs if he is indeed offered the national job (ahead of our John:) ) But of course, as with all things in life, money does talk, I wish it would say something to me!
I wonder what sort of job Stuart Pearce would do if indeed they were to promote him from the under 21 job? just a thought.
Finally they could always stay with their foreign managers policy and ask Jose Mourhino, the special one would love that, what a boost to his already over inflated ego that would be.
Bob, Redknapp would be mad to take the job. Have you seen the way he fidgets, complete with facial tics all the time? Given the England job, he would finish up stuttering like our old friend Arkwright, from Open All Hours! Got a great job at Spurs, talk of an even bigger contract, Champions League?, not short of a few bob,(sorry tax man), would be a very bad move. Let some other poor soul deal with the nutters at the FA.
Bob b, Rednap told the police he lied to a reporter about his account in Monaco saying he did not have one. Yesterday when asked about the England managers job he told them he had never thought about it, come off it, the papers are full of it so is TV he could not do anything else but think about it.
I would not trust the man as far as a mouse could throw him.
Thanks AB, I must admit that I haven’t been following the actual proceedings so avidly, do appreciate the info and agree that he must have seen all the media hype about his England credentials.
Have you heard anything about the rumour that Capello may be interested in the managers job at Chelsea? So many different angles cropping up, even one newspaper digging up dirt from a couple of decades ago concerning Stuart Pearce abusing Paul Ince in a match between Man Utd and Nottingham Forest, strewth! how far down the manure heap do these newsmen dig for a bit of sensationalism?
Are all our favourites playing this weekend I wonder?
Our game at Yeading is off, don’t know about the rest.
Bob.b the last I heard was that Capello was talking to people at Juventus.
Thanks AB, I hadn’t heard that one either but it would certainly seem feasible for the ex England boss to settle for a job ‘back home’, the possibilities grow daily!
I watched Spurs demolish Newcastle with ease earlier this evening, cruising to 4-0 by half time then playing keep ball all through the second half, rather an easy 5-0 victory by full time but oh so easy for Tottenham.
From all accounts the Man Utd / Liverpool encounter got off to an unpleasant start when Suarez refused to shake hands with Evra, sparking a potential time bomb of a game which United won 2-1 then Fergie re-ignites things after a skirmish in the tunnel at half time by stating that Suarez should never ever play for Liverpool again, so the bad blood continues.
Loads of matches cancelled owing to the Arctic conditions.
Bob.b, Fergie is an interfering racist and he trys to play mind games with people, that is from my encouters with him years ago and he has not changed.
One report on TV says that Suarez should be in big trouble if the ref reports him for not shaking hands with Evra, if that is the case then Ferdinand should be in more trouble because he refused to shake Suarez hand. It is nothing to do with anyone else only Evra and Suarez.
I certainly know that if I was Suarez I would not shake hands or ever talk to Evra again. From my coaching in Football I would have had Evra in tears before the end of the match.
The problem is that now this bad feeling is going to linger on and on but I do agree that it is up to the two players involved to sort it out without everybody else wanting to get involved, personally I have never been a fan of this pre match handshake routine, too theatrical and made for TV as far as I am concerned. Let’s get back to playing football without all the diving and deception but I bet pigs will fly first.
I had to laugh at one pundit last night who said not shaking hands sent the wrong message to youngsters, if Suarez did not shake hands the kid will say I dont need to. He went on to say that it was sending an ungentlemanly immage of the game to the younger generation.
It is OK to be gentlemanly shaking hand before they go out and kick hell out of the other side and try to get people sent off by diving and rolling over like they had been hit with a tank.
Loads of double standards prevailing as usual and it is a well known fact that Fergie plays mind games all the time, the man is sometimes his own worst enemy but of course he is ‘respected’ for his views, I just wish Suarez would say sorry to Evra and then let’s all move on and if at the end of the season Liverpool wish to part with Suarez then so be it.
Just when you thought it could’nt get any worse, back comes that other uncontrite pest Tevez, from his AWOL in Argentina. Just what the hell is going on? Time to read the riot act to all the out of control egos that some players seem to have. It seems that Dalglish is determined to be an even bigger twat than Ferguson, (and by god that takes some doing!) by taking a seige mentality on all recent events. I’m not even bothered about commenting any more on the Premier League, as I’ve had enough of all the nonsense and disgrace that surround it.
Bob.b, put yourself in Suarez’s shoes, would you talk or shake hands with a man who has done you out of playing you
favourite sport and made you lose money?
I would,nt but I would taunt hiom for the rest of his life.;-)
