Must say I enjoyed last nights semi between Palace and Cardiff. As someone who has’nt got Sky, its good to get a live game now and again. Only downside, why Hanson and Dixon all the time? Steve Claridge I like, as he does’nt talk in cliches, and knows the lower divisions well. Lets get some fresh faces in please! Good luck to the other two tonight.
Yes John, it was a great game for the neutrals, going to the heartbreak of a penalty shoot out after extra time but the home side held firm, rode their luck and their goalkeeper came up with Two good saves to take them on to a Wembley final against the winner of tonight’s match at Anfield, a game in which Liverpool will need to be at the top of their form to stand a chance of getting through, even though they do hold a slender 1-0 lead from the first leg.
Well I am sad tonight, Well done Liverpool. Did not think we would win. When we seen the team put out. Looking forward to getting Kompany back.
Yep, a different Liverpool turned up last night. Richards unfortunate with the penalty, but how in hell can you tell it hit his leg first, when seeing it in real time? Maybe refs should carry a small TV for replays! Joe Hart played a blinder, good news for England that. We Imps got three points the other night against Southport, wonders will never cease!
Come on Liverpool :-D:-D:-D
A bit of a dodgy penalty decision I have to admit but the main thing was that Liverpool played well and now they are on their way to Wembley
Surely they can beat Cardiff which will mean they are automatically in Europe next year as well
My late partner would have been so happy last night.
Rock on you reds!! That match would have made an excellent final actually, some of the football produced by both sides was superb. I agree about the penalty decision but so happy that Liverpool have managed to get to the new Wembley for the first time, lovely to see Craig Bellamy and Dirk Kuyt putting in such massive shifts but the whole team deserve the accolades, Joe Hart at times kept City in the game, what a great goalkeeper! Thought that Bellamy deserved his man of the match award, some free transfer he is turning out to be and I just hope that he stays injury free for a well deserved Wembley appearance. Once again thanks to both teams for such a fantastic match.
Changing the subject a wee bit, well done to those Imps John, maybe times are a changing?
Liverpool just beat Man U in the FA cup
Woohoo :-D:-D:-D
Liverpool beat Manchester twice in a week. Both city and united out of cups in the same week.
Message to both Manchester Teams from Liverpool…" Calm Down! Calm Down!"
Always nice to see Liverpool win and to do it twice after such a shambolic display up at Bolton speaks volumes for their resilience against the top two teams in the Premier League, so now the Manchester duo can concentrate on fighting it out for the league title. Well done Liverpool, hard luck Manchester.
The FA Cup 5th round draw is as follows…
Liverpool v Brighton
Everton v Blackpool or Sheffield Wed
Chelsea v Birmingham City
Crawley v Stoke City
Stevenage v Tottenham Hotspur
Norwich v Leicester City
Sunderland or Middlesboro v Arsenal
Millwall or Southampton v Bolton Wanderers
Games to be played over the weekend of 18/19 February
Some interesting games there. At least Saurez is guaranteed one friend, when fellow Uruguayan Poyet arrives. Would’nt like to put my money on any team at the moment, some tricky fixtures about. My bunch once again took a tumble, can’t seem to put two wins together. Annie must be thrilled, Arsenal back from the dead thanks to Van the Man.
Liverpool really socked it to use Mancunians. Son in law thought it was funny when they won us, smile soon came off his face.
Difference being, City fans are good losers, year of practise. United fans don’t like it.
Good luck Liverpool.
Thanks Shaz. Now looking back through the records Liverpool would do well not to get too complacent about facing Brighton in the FA Cup at Anfield for it is a fact that in the last Three cup meetings between these two sides in front of the Kop, Brighton have triumphed so a word to the wise to Mr Dalglish, put your strongest side out and forget about league placings, this will be like a cup final for the lads from the South Coast.
We travel to Wolverhampton tonight in the league and that is also a potential banana skin!
Bob, you must be thrilled with the Reds at the moment, even got a goal from Carroll, weheee!! I always thought Bellamy was a good signing, where that bugger gets his energy from is awe-inspiring. Your mates at Everton?, did the bizzo against Man City, and Fergie has to be wetting himself about Gibson’s goal. Poor Wigan, looks like the Hangmans Drop.
Oh dear me, West Ham, top of the Championship got a real battering at Ipswich, going down 1-5, maybe Hammer knew something we didn’t lol, fortunately for them Southampton were held to a draw so the league table was not too badly affected.
Yes John, Liverpool absolutely dominated the match against Wolves and I must agree with you regarding Craig Bellamy, what an engine that guy posseses, like Dirk Kuyt he never gives up, great footballing attitudes, I just hope that Andy Carroll’s anniversary goal is not going to become a habit lol but he took it well thanks to Charlie Adam’s pinpoint cross, now Pool lie 5th in the table, who would have thought?
Well done to Everton, just shows that money doesn’t always guarantee success and now the two Manchester clubs are equal on points at the top of the tree.
Good luck John when the Imps venture to Braintree in Towie territory.
The weather played havoc with a lot of today’s fixtures which saw Cowdenbeath’s match called off plus Lincoln’s game against Braintree.
Annie you will be well pleased with the 7-1 drubbing that Arsenal handed out to Blackburn with Van Persie helping out with a hat trick, the visitors task was made all the harder with having a player sent off just before half time.
In the Championship West Ham stay top after a narrow 2-1 win against Millwall, the Hammers also had a player dismissed after 9 minutes so really they held out well for their victory as Southampton struggled at Birmingham to salvage a point in a goalless draw which also saw a Saints player dismissed near the end of proceedings. Is it my imagination or are red cards on the increase? (like confetti at a wedding this season).
Liverpool don’t play until Monday when Tottenham are the visitors to Anfield in what could be a tasty encounter and may even feature Luis Suarez at some time or other now that he has served his ban.
Hope you are all coping well with the wintery conditions this evening:(
Not surprised Bob our match at Lincoln was called off, we had a bucket load of snow, and the temperature is brutal. Poor old Blackburn, looks like they’'ll be joining Wigan in the Championship. Hopefully Monday will be kinder to the Reds and Spurs. The Refs have been told to clamp down on two footed tackles, but its terribly hard to judge whether one player has got the ball, or the player, as things happen at such speed. There has to be some way Refs can have access to replays, otherwise its never going to suit Managers, Players, Fans, etc. as it is at the moment.
I agree John and I wont be surprised if there are more than one controversial incident in the Chelsea-Man Utd game today and the Liverpool - Spurs encounter tomorrow.
Certainly, modern technology should be introduced to at least take the strain away from the official in charge, poor guys can’t win anyway
Keeping the faith, the oldest Dublin fan!:-http://i736.photobucket.com/albums/xx4/jemflux/forum%20photos/Photo91.jpg
