My sister actually had a tattoo done of a rose on her hip.
See was saying the other day that it’s become a long stemmed rose

The only tattoos I approve of are the ones people have to make a scar or burn site beautiful or for example women who have had mastectomies who make a beautiful image over the missing breast. But for the sake of it? Well it seems a lot of pain and then you might change your mind. Plus they don’t look great with age.

Not for me, ive never really understood why people want them , my sister had one and she regretted it when she got older.

So not for me and personally i don’t think they look nice especially on women, this is me being honest but I wouldnt judge someone for choosing to have tattoos, to be honest its not my concern, its our body to do what we want with.

Exactly, I didn’t get my first one until I was older as back when I was a teen the only thing girls had was a black rose, and I didn’t want one of them. I went to a very good guy in Perth who always has a long waiting list and he was not cheap. He did a great job and I love what he did.
As for those getting drunk and going for a cheap one, I’ve no sympathy for them at all. You get what you pay for.

I don’t have tattoos, but I like hearing the stories behind some I see. However, having just seen a woman with her neck covered in inked black lace and skeletons, I didn’t dare make eye contact, let alone have a conversation. :shock:

Tattoos are trashy. On women even more so. From a religious perspective Leviticus 19:28 applies. Paul opposes tats on the basis that the human body is “a vessel for the holy spirit” and so any deliberate disfigurement of the body is therefore a blasphemy.

AND, this is a fine example of why I don’t post them. Trashy I am not, in any way shape or form.

If you see some of the work carried out by the experts on the Tattoo Fixers TV show, you will be astounded - photos of loved ones as a permanent reminder, photo-realistic pictures of animals, and one in particular - a young man who had a photograph of Deirdre Barlow tattooed on his shin. The likeness was astounding. Sadly, that young man died in the Manchester Arena bombing.

No tattoos for me, either. It is a matter of personal preference, of course.
I don’t feel a need to print something on my skin for the rest of the world to see, read, and wonder about. I would rather others focused on my words and deeds, and the more natural parts of me.

I don’t assess others’ tats, read them, or try to figure out what the squiggles are…their own is their own.

My swan is personal and the hummingbird is because I love the wee souls. As I said I have no problem covering them up, and in the winter they are covered by my sweater anyway. Only time I have them on show is as the swimming pool.

I was watching some muslims celebrate ‘Eid Mubarak’ (I think it was) on the lunchtime news. They were praying together and then socialising and eating together, and I was envious of their community spirit. That used to be us once upon a time, and now we keep ourselves to ourselves and rarely interact with our neighbours…
