Spontaneous Human Combustion, UFO's & Other Mysteries

Thanks.I haven’t had my morning cup of tea yet either

Then I’m truly amazed. Has he ingratiated himself back in favour Tabby?

That sounds intriguing. Assuming that it’s still available, and I can access it, I’d like to watch it.
The unusual and weird do interest me… not that I consider myself to be weird. Of course, others may disagree…

Went to UK Justwatch to check. It’s on Sky Go and Now TV if you have those.

Weird is good, in my book.

I shall read that as well…my kind of information…weird is good its mysterious and mystifying amongst supernatural and unusual…it is not always what people think…eerie it can be as well

On a month’s trial!

I’ll pretend I didn’t see this.

Hi

A very personal view of things.

There are things that I have seen which cannot be explained by the current state of Scientific Knowledge.

I am both a Scientist and a very cynical Northerner.

I do not believe in Tarot Cards or the power of Crystals or the rest of that stuff.

What I do believe in is this.

Animals can detect things we cannot.#

I have, in the company of others, witnessed things during Exhumations, which are inexplicable.

It was not Mass Hysteria, we were all hard nosed cynics.

I was not present during the Rendlesham Forest Incident.

I did however see the aftermath and take readings.

The two Police Officers involved were local, Rural Officers, they could not have made it up.

The USAF personnel involved were basic grunts, not an insult, very reliable people with nothing to gain and a lot to lose.

The response from on high was immediate, money no object, both from the USA and UK Agencies.

This was a D Notice thing.

Things leaked, from the USA side, and it has become quite famous.

There are plenty of “Other Mysteries” to be witnessed. Just look around at the world of politics, particularly in the US. Sarah Palin, Bush Baby Junior, Hank Johnsson, Maxine Waters, Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, Tony Blair, Silviano Berlusconi …They all walk the earth but ought to be either locked up or committed to the looney bin. The fact that they are not is a “mystery” to me.

They certainly can, Swimmy, have seen that for myself.

What sort of things?

Had not heard of that one, Swimmy, had to ask Mr Google. Something akin to Roswell it seems.

If your interested in a theory over spontaneous human combustion check out “the wick effect” and how human bodies when ignited (there is usually a heat source in many cases) burn very hot, but slowly and localised like a candle due to the fat content in the body. It explains a lot but not everything.

Yes, I read about that a long time ago. I don’t remember much more than you’ve said, but I do remember a picture of what once was an old person sitting in a chair who had burnt away to virtually nothing. The strange thing was that there was so little fire damage adjacent to the burnt body.

I recall that story as well…it was very odd & sad.

Yep. I recall it too. Very odd.

I remain open minded about the unexplained, but I will need proof to convince me one way or the other.

Spontaneous human combustion is real, but it is generally caused by somebody throwing petrol or lighter fluid on a bonfire or a barbecue.
To my knowledge, nobody has ever produced evidence of a person catching fire without the assistance of naked flames or accelerants or the suchlike.

Having seen a UFO, and seen experimental flying objects of several nations during a long career in the aerospace industry, the general public could be forgiven for thinking some of them were not of this world.
I have seen objects with flashing lights, suspended motionless in the night sky, then witnessed them suddenly move off at speed, but I know what they were and the physics behind the apparent phenomenon.

Once upon a time we got a lot of crop-circles by here, but now they are not so common. Perhaps the people who made them have decided that destroying someone’s crops, their livelihood is perhaps not such a good idea after all.

I think that ghosts may exist, although I have never seen one, but I do not believe they are the spirits of the dead.
It should be remembered that observing something has an effect on that which is being observed.

It’s a bit like the old question, if a tree falls in a forest but there is nobody there to hear it, does it make a sound? Well the answer is no, because without an eardrum being vibrated by air pressure, there is no signal transmitted to the brain to translate it into sound. The falling tree only makes a sound if there is someone there to hear it.
Perhaps a ghost only appears if there is an observer who triggers some phenomenon such as stones with magnetic properties that somehow act as a recording device, and replays an image/apparition from the past. If the observer was never there, there would be no trigger so no apparition.

Most people forget UFO doesn’t mean alien or even outer space. In laymen’s terms it means “I Don’t Know.” Therefore any object in the sky from a paper plate to a space ship, if it can’t be identified then it’s a UFO. :grinning: :grinning:

Precisely so. I saw what appeared to be flames at an angle to the ground, moving in the night sky at a low altitude, but it was completely silent. I don’t know what it was, but since it was on the airfield where I once lived, I think it was a flying machine, but I cannot be absolutely certain because I couldn’t identify it.

There are so many possibilities of natural occurrences which can be seen as UFOs, and many people jump to the ‘supernatural’ or ‘alien’ options probably having been encouraged by the many science fiction films that have been shown throughout the 20th century.

One other very rare and as yet entirely unexplained phenomenon, which I have found particularly interesting, is ‘ball lightning’.
There are reports of this going back as early as the 19th century or even earlier, so I think it would be safe to disregard any suggestion of scientific experiments or even fantastic weapons, at least under the control of humans!

Another interesting observation that was easily misinterpreted…
