Sounds That Rocked Your Boat

Now these songs definetly rocked my boat… ;-)

Smart Dressed Man
Legs.

This is one that would definitely be classed as a boat rocker and I know that because about 8 of my friends and I would cram ourselves into the local phone box (yes, all of us at once) and we’d ring dial-a-disc every day to listen to this song (and singing at the tops of our voices  ) until dial-a-disc changed the record (we were only about 13/14 years old)!

Yaaaaay…loved this one!

Brilliant wasn’t it - so different

Great sound.
Last time I used Dial a disk it was 2p a go.
OMG that is a long long time ago…

Probably the most powerful song I have heard always gotta sing along with it. Love the baggies.

Yes b-v it was certainly different, don’t make 'em like that anymore. although I have to say I do like a few of the ones doing the rounds at the moment.

2p? those were the days!

I always though Percy Sledge did this best until this fella came along.

The one and only song ‘given’ to me by a boyfriend in my adult years definitely made me rethink who and what I was (I’m generally not into love songs at all especially slow paced ones but this one is lovely) and brought about huge changes in my life:

Memories…my sister loved this group think she still likes Paul Weller. I like one of their songs but can’t for the life of me think what it’s called.

Right - enough sloppy music! This is a proper love song  one of my all-time favourites (and with over 15m hits, it would seem I have very common taste in music  ):

Before they became bland.

Before those women d’you mean?

More to do with Peter Green leaving, and the loss of the blues based sound. This still sends shivers down my spine.

Early 70’s I was well into music, new song writers coming on the scene every other week. I used to hang around The Western Bar in Leicester Square in my spare time and Ronnie Scotts when I got the odd night off. Living in the heart of the West End in a pub called the George and The Dragon.
These are a few that spring to mind, went straight out and bought their albums been listening to them ever since.

Paul Williams.

Clifford T Ward.

Ralph McTell.
