In the last six months both my husband and my brother have died and Sam Smith has made me cry constantly, I love the songs but the evoke such emotions.

How about “The world is just a great big onion”

What a good song this is. The clever chords. Love it ! Makes me very emotional !

A female voice and a sad song will do it every time for me. Carlene Carter singing ‘Unbreakable Heart’:

This one will bring the hankies out I betcha.:lol:

Yup, a good old tearjerker that one. It reminded me that Lonnie Donegan did a couple of versions of it too. One in 1960 and another in 1978. Both can be found on YouTube.

Always brings a tear to my eye

… and this ‘The William Tell Overture’

Is anyone familiar with The Alan Parsons Project? The lyrics to this 1977 song have a particular effect on me.

Such beautiful sounds from Enya, bring tears to my eyes.

I have heard of the Alan Parsons Project Floydy but the one I remember is Eye in the Sky.

As it was going to be a nice day Sunday and the weather was going to deteriorate during the following week we decided to go on a day trip to Norfolk, as it may be the last opportunity till after winter.

We were going to walk along to the beach but as we were eating our packed lunch, we heard a beautiful soprano voice across the quayside carpark !

We turned and saw a young girl on the balcony of the Golden Fleece pub on the quayside. She was singing into a microphone and had a small amplifier beside her. What a glorious voice she had, and she sang so easily, reaching very high notes absolutely pitch perfect. She had gone to a lot of trouble to obtain proper orchestral backing tracks and the performance was wonderful.

Needless to say we didn’t get to the beach, as there was a much more interesting draw right there on the quayside !

Her name was Hayley Moss and she comes from Norwich where she does a lot of busking. Apparently she will be appearing in the London production of Cinderella. We wish her every success, because such a talented young lady should have her beautiful voice shared with everybody !

The following YouTube videos are under par, qualty wise, but they give you some idea of her beautiful and effortless voice.

A big hit in the US that one Shirley. I do like this very underrated group:-)

There is so much sadness in this world…
… but there is so much beauty if only we know where to look.

Have a lovely day.
