You can try @mentioning absent users in this thread and they should get an email… let’s try it with @UkGameCoder :003:

(Someone please remind me to check the admin panel in 10 minutes as that’s when it usually sends notifications after a post has been made (it gives the user 10 minutes to sort their post out in case it needs editing first))

Yes… just checked and mentioning someone will send them an email :023:

(Though obviously members can change this setting afterwards, but for members who haven’t logged in yet will get an email as it’s the default setting - tho keep in mind it might go to spam so they might not see it unless they check their spam folders regularly)

It was to add a note at the top of our digest emails letting people know that the site has changed names and how they can get their account activated :003:

I wonder whether we should use a standardised post to use and then just mention one user per post? It might give them some more info and help avoid confusion :lol:

Here’s an example, feel free to copy and paste it and just replace @username with the user’s username :003:

Hey @username, haven't you heard - over50sforum has moved to over50schat.com :-)

All you need to do to get started is go to:

..and enter your email or username and then follow the instructions.

Once you have set a password for this new site then you just need to login via:

Good idea - but - Highlighting always brings up the ‘quote’ box though. How can we just ‘copy and paste’ ?

Just ignore the quote button and press Control + C as usual (or Command and C if on a Mac) - and then paste as you normally would in the reply box (Control + V or Command + V on a Mac) :smiley:

So…

1 - Highlight the text above
2 - Control + C
3 - Control + V in the reply box to paste
