I have 2 daughters and both big pains in the bum , they lecture non stop and afraid I might wind up in jail due to things I say , lol .
They are prohibited from visiting ( both married in California ) but we do face time online so they can lecture .

Covid is a terrible thing.It can kill and damage your body internally even if you survive.
We considered curfews and restrictions well worth it.The right wing media concerned about people not going out and buying stuff so their backers would lose money,labelled our Premier a dictator.But most people agreed with his actions.

I was against any curfew after first week or so but believed in wearing mask if an establishment required it and once vaccines came out felt every country with them should open up plus not forced vaccines .
In the end places with high populations regardless of curfew seemed to get hit the same .
Edit , Btw I based my decision on zero medical training simply because the curfew rubbed me the wrong way , lol

Apparently Smokers fared better than non-smokers concerning catching covid, but had worse outcomes once infected.
I didn’t mind the lockdowns, and like Mr Smith I tend to avoid crowds of people anyway, but not because I don’t like people, more because I prefer my own company. Most people sweat the small stuff, and I can’t be arsed with them.
I did object to intimidation and threats to try and make me have the vaccines, some of the lengths they went to were pathetic, and the worst people were those taking the high moral ground when they knew bugger all about covid, vaccines or me…

During the second week of curfew in a momentary lapse of judgement due to boredom though lots good tv I went to Walmart , waited like 90 minutes on the ridiculous space between people long line and bought a gallon of prune juice and hot/spicy sausages .
That evening while watching repeats of King of Queens I drank all the prune juice and ate 6 large hot/spicy sausages just to see what would happen .
I’ll just say , I’m lucky to be alive

it was a dreadful disease when it was “novel” and unknown to our bodies. Now the strains are so mild in comparison. But who knows what the long term effects on our health will be.
I wonder how many smokers quit during lockdown. It must have been tough if you were highly dependent on nicotine and unable to leave your house. I can’t remember whether cigarettes were classed as luxuries and not necessities during that first draconian lockdown.

Though I was against the lock down ONLY because I felt mask was sufficient I agree it was no joke however I do not disagree with those who say every death was linked to COVID .
It became VERY political in the USA and I thought about putting a typed letter ( yes I still have an old type writer ) on bulletin board in community I live in saying that I heard the vaccine turns conservatives into liberals and liberals into conservatives but I realized this was no joke and might talk some out of getting the vaccine as fragile times so I did not .
I did tell a man in area who is a good guy but bit MAGA who got the initial vaccine but decided not to get the follow up that the initial vaccine made me Gay as after 2 months I found myself buying pastel and loud clothing plus actually listening to what women had to say .
However the booster bought me back to the vile man we know and love and I kid not that due to that he did get his booster out of fear . He has a few ailments and I was afraid he would get COVID as he still worked not retired at that time .
