So many people still smoke cigarettes

Well I guess you could , lol .

I have a friend here in Miami who late 60’s is a multi millionaire , a brilliant man who see’s what mortals like myself do not and he became rich with several inventions which glad for him as most do not seem to pan out .

He was an alcoholic for MANY years but kicked the habit and I suspect like most who drink he had pain / depression but thankfully now living high and large , he attributes a few inventions to his drinking so made lemonade out of lemons .

I once asked him " If I start drinking will I be as rich as you ? " and we laughed as I have the mentality of an amoeba but yes like you a vice saved him as he says .

He no longer drinks simply enjoys his life living by the beach with 2 dogs and yes I am trying to talk him into setting up a fish tank ( my passion ) but so far no avail.

There’s a Vape Lounge sign on the fence of a house near us.
Beware Dog and Free Lemons were the only signs you used to see in the street.

Is that where “Craft Beer” came from

When smoking was normal in pubs, I’d smoke one cigarette per pint (a roll-up). Sunday lunchtimes were when friends and partners gathered in the pup and had a few drinks. Such a regular thing that the landlady would line beers up on the bar before we got there. 3 pints was about my limit. Happy days.

If I go to the pub now nobody smokes inside of course but it wouldn’t worry me to sit outside with those who smoke if I was with someone who did.

I don’t know anybody who smokes anymore.

It doesn’t matter if you are indoors or outdoors here, you are not allowed to smoke where people are eating or drinking,

Australia is a bit of a police state though Bruce, especially Melbourne judging by the harsh treatment people were getting over the covid vaccine malarky. It’s getting like that here, and it will get a lot worse if they manage to get ID cards and facial recognition passed. We are already the most observed nation in the world with all the surveillance cameras everywhere.
And if they manage to kick cash into the long grass, they will have complete control of everyone’s finances.

It’s a few years back now but our friends from Doncaster used to come and stay with us. He smoked (still does I think) but not in the house. We’d go to the pub together a few time during the stay and sit outside so he could have a smoke. I never minded or found the smell of the tobacco objectionable.

I had a few friends that still smoked Mart and I didn’t mind being in their company while they had a cigarette. Some have unfortunately died and some have moved away, so I don’t have many friends now that smoke or otherwise.
My daughter used to smoke roll ups, she always went outside for a smoke, but she gave up smoking earlier this year, thank goodness, but now I’ve got two daughters for the price of one…I don’t know which is worse, the smoking or the obesity… :017:

I hope she doesn’t read this…She is 52 this year…

Australia is a federation of states every state has its own police force and its own laws, what happens in Melbourne doesn’t necessarily apply in Sydney or Darwin.

The constitution was written to protect states rights, if you don’t like the laws in one state you can always move to another.

As for covid you’d be on the outer, most people applauded the way the states handled it especially when you compare the death toll to just about anywhere else.

Yeah, I realised that Bruce, but the police did use some harsh treatment in Melbourne, obviously the media here would just lump you altogether. You never get to see news of the good states unless you’ve been there or know someone who lives there…You and Mr Smith are our eyes and ears down there Bruce…
