Sir Roger Moore, James Bond actor, dies aged 89

Aye, she had almost completed her tunnel too.

The first 6000 cars were actually built in West Bromwich by Jensen Motors using panels produced by Pressed Steel in Scotland

Roger Moore was originally a male model Mups. He modelled mens clothing. My wife has a knitting pattern somewhere among her collection where RM is on the front modelling a sweater. Joan knitted that sweater for me and I looked Moore…sorry more… like James Bond than young Roger ever did.

Was it this one:

:?:

When i saw this thread in the wee hours i thought it must be time to sleep as i was sure he had dies ages ago…Lol omah.
Anyway, not a great actor (IMO) but what a great look he had.

Definitely - never liked him as James Bond. I seem to remember he turned up in ‘Maverick’ occasionally, and he took the mickey out of both himself and James Bond in the ‘Cannonball Run’ film.

Didn’t one (or more) of his wives beat him up?

Who remembers Roger in ‘Ivanhoe’…?

Please Sir, me Sir, I do … is there a prize?

I have been to Ivinghoe a few times, never saw Roger.

You have won a cup of tea and a scone at M&S Tabby…

That’s the very one Omah. I doubt my sweater lasted as long as Roger Moore did though.

And I third that.

Connery was unquestionably the best bond.

After him, I think Pierce Brosnan was the next best, suave, debonair, good all-round bond.

Things definitely went very downhill with Daniel Craig so I’m looking forward to his new replacement.

Well blow me EZ, I made a good guess there then about him being more like a model than a tough man.
I never knew that.

It ain’t Craig’s fault, Bond was never a full blown Street Runner.

#7 for me please

#2 or #8 for me

I agree with others, Connery was by far the best.

I find it absolutely preposterous that a female actress has been considered for ‘James Bond’…:018:
Surely the clue is in the name ‘JAMES’ you could have a female actress doing similar things but you would have to call it something else…‘Jemma Bond’ perhaps…
How about a male actor taking on the role of ‘Jane Ayre’ or ‘Emma’…And call them ‘Johnny Ayre’ or ‘Edmund’…

Ladies are best suited to writing the reports, doing the admin or accompanying a smartly dressed James into the casino…End of, so stop all of this nonsense now!

… mine’s good at ironing, hoovering and general housework duties.

Totally agree Foxy.

However, I read something about a week ago, by the writer of Bond that a female playing the part is out of the question, so we can relax m’dear.

Maybe it has to ‘be seen to be considered’ just to keep the peace, but apparently it aint gonna happen.
