In my opinion, Take the booster shot if it’s offered to you.

Sorry to hear that Ted, I hope your daughter feels better soon

This is not true
There is practically no medical reason that you can’t have the covid vaccine .
The amount of people who have reacted to it and died is very slight about 5 in a million.
Whereas the threat of dying from covid is high especially among over fifties and vulnerable people .
No vaccine is 100% so we have to have a booster so what it’s better than dying .

And?
People undergoing chemotherapy
Pregnancy ( and that is debatable )
If you are undergoing chemotherapy you certainly don’t want to be anywhere near anyone with covid .

And how do you know someone has it?

You don’t so unvaccinated people should IMO take some civic responsibly.

Psmith that might be the Australian take
however here in the U.K. pregnant women are vaccinated , also it’s thought the the covid jab helps protect the unborn child.

It’s always possible to find spurious anti-fax theories if you search the web.
However most sensible people discount them .

I have been vaxxed, but would I enter another vaxxed persons home, unmasked, and have a natter with them, side by side on the sofa, no, I would not, and, I suspect a few others on here would not also. Its only because this mentality still prevails through a fair percentage of society still, that the present situation is not worse that it is at present. Imo

I agree, It’s a ridiculous proposal to wear a mark of some kind to demonstrate that you have been jabbed, and many people have taken umbrage at the suggestion, and now you know how I feel! When they tell me that I should be refused hospital treatment and have to stay in my house and not go out, or wear a mask each time I do go out, and be avoided and ostracised by all of my friends because I decided not to have the covid vaccine.

Your logic has gone out of the window to assume that everyone who has not been vaccinated are walking around with Covid. Well I can assure you, that if you have got Covid you will know about it! A negative test means you have not got Covid, and if you are asymptomatic and the test has failed to pick it up yet, you can not spread it to anyone else. If the test doesn’t pick it up, it means you are not producing infectious spores. If you are coughing and spluttering as d00d points out, you know that you have got something
Covid, Flu or any other airborne disease and should not mix with other people or go out anyway. It’s not just Covid, Flu, any number of respiratory diseases can kill an old or vulnerable person.

Using the old cherry about protecting other people is a cop out for most, you have the vaccines to save your own skin, and apart from family and friends you couldn’t care less about other people.
I believe the main cause of the spread is from people who know they are infected but still turn out for work anyway. How many of us went to work with a cold regardless who we gave it to.

How much different is it having to carry papers or smartphone documents around with you to prove you have been jabbed to gain access to places and travel, as it was in Nazi Germany. Yes! the Jude yellow cross will be the natural progression, but on every door of the people who have refused the jab. Burning books? Yes that has already started with social media in the banning of anything questioning the validity of the covid vaccines and climate change.

Bob we all know you didn’t have the jab, and that was your choice! You have had Covid and we all hope that it has created antibodies to protect you against further cases of Covid.

The real problem on here is that the majority of people chose to have the vaccinations and you continue to try and make them believe they have made a mistake, so they defend their decision!

You are still a popular member on here & we respect that you made the choice not to have it, but wouldn’t it be wise to respect those of us who did have it & allow us to discuss when & how we get the booster, without hearing what you have read in the internet>
We are all adults who are capable of making our own choice. Does it matter if that choice is different to yours ? It seems that you want us all to to see it from your point of view , but I am afraid that many of us don’t, yet we all cared when you & your wife were so ill & happily you both recovered!
I see little point in trying to prove you were right, when we all had the same choice & some chose differently to you!
If the people where you live are critical, I would tell them that there is no proof that any decision was the best!

Perhaps I too will take some of the viciousness directed at you Foxy.

I have my own views too, which will stay my own views, as you have your own views, as all others have their own views.

I’ve had one jab only which was back in February. I refused the 2nd and will not be having a booster.

I don’t consider myself to be a threat to others. I still continue to carry on my life as if in lockdown rules. I’m paranoid about cleanliness and where I have to go in the company of others in order to buy the food to feed myself.

The only threat I can see ahead for me, and not necessarily for others (who go to work, socialise, carry on as normal and don’t behave as if lockdown rules still apply as I do) - is when I attend my daughter’s wedding ceremony and have to take my mask off for photos. I will not be hanging around for the social side. So that brief period without the mask worries me but I believe should not cause a problem to anyone else.
In other words, I’m still doing everything in my power not to catch the virus, nor pass on anything I might or might not have. If I’d had all the vaccines, the threat and the worry would still be the same for me.

So bash me too if you must and tell me I’m selfish. Because quite honestly I don’t think I am.

But you are not doing everything in your power .
You took the first vaccine it will be waning now so you are more susceptible to getting the virus and passing it on .
As most people are infectious two days before any symptoms are evident you could be walking about shedding virus unknowingly.
If and God forbid you catch covid you may get over it but you may be hospitalised therefore occupying a bed that could be used by some one awaiting a non covid but serious condition .
