The guy on the right is a fool. Fancy getting that wrong.
Yippee ! I can now watch NASA live via Hotbird satellite channel with my Technomate receiver on the TV.
Just checked for sightings and thereās nothing til at least July 1st, sorry folks .

There are no sightings in your area for the period of Friday Jun 15, 2018 through Sunday Jul 1, 2018
We update the list of space station sightings multiple times a week. Please check back in a few days to see if there are any upcoming sighting events for your area or sign up to receive email or text alerts the next time the space station will be visible overhead.
The space stationās orbit takes it all around the globe so it may pass over you at times when itās less visible, such as either in the middle of the day when it is too bright or the middle of the night when the sun is on the other side of the earth. The best sightings occur early morning before sunrise or in the evening shortly after sunset when the sky is dark but the sun can still reflect light off the metal structures of the space station.
Itās having a rest. :-p
I remember last year my friend texted me and said come round we are all sitting in the garden drinking wine awaiting the space station to go over.
In my minds eye I was expecting something like the Millennium Falcon blazing over with Hans Solo waving at the helm. Someone shouted there it is! Two little lights moved across the sky to a group ooooo and a, oh is that it:-D
Still great to see though.
Ha ha ha, yes a bit of an anti climax Cedronellaā¦
May the force be with you!
Yes, thereās no doubt that the astronauts view of us is better than our view of them.
Iām pleased I have seen it though and would not turn down the chance to view it again
Quite. I will be watching out for it when it returns.
The good news is there are sightings coming up, the bad news is, as I suspected, they are at stupid oāclock
So for any of you insomniacs or (very) early birds here they are. Times are for Birmingham.

Thanks for updating the sightings Nicol, what a shame about the stupid oāclock times though. Saying that, I may be lucky for a few nights as Iām a poor sleeper, itās not uncommon for me to be still awake at anything up to 3.00am
There must be a much smaller window now that it stays light so late and gets light so early.
Thanks Nicol, Youāre a starā¦
Problem isā¦Once I get off to sleep, the space station could land on my roof and I would be obliviousā¦
I meant to add this yesterdayā¦if you look outside around midnight, to the south east is Mars, itās unusually large and bright at the moment, you canāt miss it, itās bright orange!
Just a little bit of additional info about the ISS. This is an article about the installation of the Space X Dragon spacecraft. Itās set to stay there for about a month.
And a picture of the ISS with the various craft attachedā¦
July 2, 2018: International Space Station Configuration. Five spaceships are attached to the space station including the SpaceX Dragon and Cygnus resupply ships from the United States; and from Roscosmos, the Progress 69 resupply ship and the Soyuz MS-08 and MS-09 crew ships.

I did notice that Nicol. It is very bright at the moment as is the moon.
Help please in identifying two bright starsā¦
They are the first stars that appear in the evening sky and the first one is around 45* high and 210* South West at around 10:00pm.
The second one is low in the sky at about 30* and 290* North West.
Thanks in anticipationā¦
Signed:- Inquisitive Doncasterā¦
We donāt have a moon at the moment Longdogsā¦
Or should I say, I can see half of it during the dayā¦Iāts gone round the other side by the time it gets darkā¦
Are you sure it was the moon you saw?..
Dear Inquisitive of Doncaster
Iām no expert but I think the first one you mention is Jupiter and the second is Venus.
This site gives you a rough idea of what is where and when. The times are for London but there shouldnāt be much variation no matter where you are in the UK.
Thanks Nicol, thatās a brilliant site, Iāve included it on my āFavouritesā and shall peruse it in more detail laterā¦
