We have some Sea Stacks close to us as well, Dog and I sometimes walk along the cliffs to them. They’re called the “Duncansby Stacks” Have to be careful though as there’s often sheep running around the fields. My son clambered down the tiny cliff track to the stacks on his last visit up here and took these bottom photos for me.

Yes it is. It’s a beautiful place but no I have never been there. The only place I’ve been in the Uk is England and only because I was born there. If I were to go back the United Kingdom, I most certainly would visit Scotland or Wales.
Here is a brave tight rope walker crossing there to the point and back.

I’ve passed the Hoy Sea Stack in a boat, but once only. Yet it’s not really that far from us. You can see Hoy from the beach here, it’s the closest of the Orkney Islands.
We had a guy doing the rope walk thing here a couple of years back, mad ass. He did it over the ocean near the harbour, I used to have a photo from a drone of him, will see if I can find it.

You are not going to believe this. My husband and I have only had one trick or treater in the last 24 years. We lived in such a rural area that it wasn’t worth it for kids to visit.
Now we live in another area which is rural. We picked up a box of chocolate bars just in case kids come trick or treating but still had them in the car cause we really didn’t expect anyone.
Well my man was down at the very front of our property cutting down trees and I was out at the basement walk out transplanting some chrysanthemums.
Well along comes a car up our driveway. The man rolls down the window and asks if we are doing any trick or treating in a heavy Scottish accent. I said YES so he gets out……
He’s a handsome red headed Scotsman with a thick red Viking style beard and a Scottish KILT.
I kid you not. I almost asked if I could take his picture but …, well…

You’re kidding. Well you certainly live in a spectacular place. If I were to visit, that’s the type of area I’d like to go. Believe it or not we have a lot of mountainous cliffs here. You’d like where I live also.

Nova Scotia actually means ‘New Scotland,’ in Latin. Many people from Scotland settled here because it reminded them of home.

Oh yes. We have an entire Celtic snd Gaelic population. There is a lot of Scottish culture here which we both like.
It turns out the guy in the kilt is our distant neighbour from a few kilometres down the road.

By the way, Kilt man’s son ended up with about 20 mini chocolate bars so he was a happy little fella. He was showing me his fake muscles. I told him I couldn’t tell at all that they were fake.
It was one of those really sweet meetings. Now I’m stuffing my face with the rest of the chocolate bars. 
Yes indeed. That’s some neighbours. 
He really was a nice man. I LOVE my life. It’s awesome.
