You meant it as a snide demeaning remark aimed at other women and I find that offensive .
Muddy you, I and all the others on this thread were not there and none of us know the social influencers or the victim (I assume). Most of us havenāt met the Duchess of Cambridge either. So you seem to be saying none of us have a right to comment about this case or the media circus or whatās motivated that.
Youāre entitled to read into my comments what you wish. But Iām not clear on why you are so defensive. Iām not prejudiced and Iām not carried away by any emotion with this fiasco. Not because Iām not sad for the victim but because I see this as a media circus.
A woman has been murdered like so many others who have been murdered over the years. The messages Iāve seen here indicate that if you have parents or friends who are connected or suitably persistent then your story is worth telling but the thousands of voices who are not heard are somehow ok to ignore. Nobody holds vigils for them.
Thereās likely more frequent mention of testosterone-fueled males as there is of hormonal women. People love talking about hormones. Adrenaline-fueled, adrenaline junkie? are those not allowed or are they ok because they are gender-neutral? What about insulin? Is that one safe?
I can see you find it offensive I just donāt understand why.
Well saidā¦Iām wondering if they have children of their ownā¦just a thought, only because of what I see written from them on this thread.
Under present Covid restrictions, any folks folks who gather for a cause are putting immediate family at risk, then the wider population, canāt think why any group would disregard that message?
Spitty loads of groups have disagreed with that the BLM the Rangers football fans , the anti vaxers to name but a few .
Yesterday I had words with a big man who blocked off an entire section with his cart himself and his child and proceeded to examine and replace umpteen items on the shelves -theyāre were fresh items . When I remonstrated with him not because he was mauling things but just to ask him if I could get my two items as I know what I wanted I got a mouthful of abuse and would have got more if not another ( male ) customer and the young supervisor ( male ) come onto the scene.
Where women are concerned men can be bullies .
The police brought no credit on themselves by wresting 5 ft 2 in women to the ground al la George Ffoyd and no doubt by not allowing a calm vigil spread more of the virus themselves .
It was totally inappropriate force .
Yes! Yes! A thousand times Yes!.. All this Sh$t never happened before the news went 24 hours rolling, and of course social media.
I donāt support the vigil, mainly because it may have put more lives at risk of Covid infection!
I tend to agree with some of the men, who believe that many believed they could associate it with other protest movements.
The police are currently trying to do an impossible job, and protests are not helping them.
If these large protests continue we will eventually find that there will be more injuries & deaths.
If we want to get laws changed we should sign petitions, it may not help to get what we want but it will let the government know how people feel, and it is the most civilized way to state our opinions!
I am sure that some of the people protesting were really sad about the death of this lady, but I also think that some were there because they were bored, owing to lock down, or trying to demonstrate that protests are the way to get what you want!
If people really want to use this murder as a way to get the law changed, perhaps we should wait till the suspect is tried & we hear more about the circumstances:!:
That will also give Sarahās family a chance to grieve without constant reminders of what may have happened to herā¦I am sure the police will do a more gentle job of helping them, than the media!
Yes it did happen .
Women have been harassed and murdered by men since time immemorial .Itās just that there are more people now and instant media coverage .
Today hopefully Jack the Ripper would have been caught on CCTV.
Perhaps some Twink but the majority I do believe were sad . I was sad and hoped against hope that she would be found alive .
If I lived in London I would have gone to the Vigil ever though I have followed the covid rules to the letter up to now .
It was a policeman who murdered her they know that he abducted her because he was caught on CCTV camera he was trying to kill himself because he is guilty . The police who stick together like the proverbial on a blanket have been wrong footed here .
I don t blame them entirely their leaders did not give them clear directions it could have been handled with some tact and compassion not brute force thereby proving the point that women are not safe on the streets even from the law.
If you had gone to the vigil Muddy & lost your face mask, as could have happened in the video scenes I saw, you could then have caught the Covid infection!
If that had happened and you became one of the people who donāt survive the infection, would your family be happy that you had supported this vigil?
I understand the emotions you feel about Sarah, but would you be prepared to risk your family having to grieve for you, as Sarahās family are now grieving for her?
Yes I would not have lost my face mask because I always have a spare in my pocket and would have kept a distance .
I have been vaccinated so itās unlikely I will die of covid .
These are however imaginary scenarios .
Had the gathering been handled with a bit more sensitivity the subsequent violence may have been avoided .
Vigils took place in towns around the country without incident .
I know what you mean! We can never be sure how many idiots will arrive and many of the other protesting groups have a lot of supporters in the London area!
I donāt object to peaceful vigils, although I would not be part of any, but I do think it would have been wiser to congregate there after the police had finished their work!
Exactly that Juddy!!
And it looks like they are going to milk it for all itās worth ??
Donkeyman!
A court of law deemed it was an illegal gathering Muddyā¦
This is exactly the response some protesters want Lion Queen. The BLM in particular have made their intentions very clear, to disband the police and take away their powers of arrest. The BLM and others, put man against woman, black against white, and try to create as much chaos as they can, seizing every opportunity in their ultimate quest to create anarchy. We must support the police in every way, and not let the evil of one man tarnish what is probably the best police force in the world.
That statement is not borne out by the statistics that were posted
on here earlier Muddy ??
Perhaps you should read them?
Things are actually getting better for women as society develops !
Donkeyman!
After a year of being in covid, I had completely forgot, not realising they were all endangering each otherās lives, including Kate Middletonā¦who wore no maskā¦
The gathering was wrongā¦but not for those who wanted to pay tribute, even though they didnāt know herā¦most of them were probably mothers ,fathers , children, brothers and sistersā¦but yes it was wrong to gather I believe.
Statistics are anything that anyone wants to make them Donkeyman and women have been abused by men since before the time of statistics .
Did they really ?
The police went to a judge and he gave no definite ruling .
